Community participation and their responsibilities need to be given importance for better treatment and prevention in the growing mental health in the society, for this, community treatment is the most important system, said Dr. Dinanath Yadav, Head of the Department of Social Work, on the occasion of International; day of Person with disabilities. Today on 03/12/2024, the Department of Social Work under the aegis of MATS University organized a workshop on “Psychosocial Assessment and Well being in Person With Disabilities”. It was the evaluation and awareness of various aspects of disability in the premises of “Amulya Academy” of DDU Nagar. Chief Expert Lokesh Kumar Ranjan ji Assistant Professor, Central India Institute of Mental health and Prabodh Nanda.Senior Programme Coordinator State mental health Recourse Center Raipur and Dr Priti Upadhyay prociapal Kopalwadi Collage. Mr.Lokesh Kumar Ranjan was present in this program on types and nature of disability, Dr. Priti upadhya talked on different symptoms of disabilities and Prabodh Nanda was presented his thought on Mitani and SHG’role in helping of disabilities people. Lokesh Kumar Ranjan talked to the Anganwadi workers, Medical Social Workers, Acupressure Experts etc. present about the study of the condition of disabled people living in the society and various skills for solving the problem. He told that along with the formulation of policies for the disabled, reservation in government jobs is also needed. But apart from this, bringing change in social attitude towards them is also an important step. He also told that along with physical disability, mental disability is also a big challenge which is not identified quickly and when it is treated in time, then this problem also does not arise. Therefore, it is necessary that various symptoms of this mental illness are identified in time and arrangements for quick diagnosis should be made for it. In the implementation of this program, Chancellor of the University Shri Gajraj Pagaria, Vice Chancellor Prof. KP Yadav, General Director Shri. Priyesh Pagaria along with Registrar Shri Gokulnanda Panda had special support and blessings. Department Head Dr. Deena Nath Yadav played an important role as the coordinator in organizing this entire program.
