Distributes cheques worth Rs 24 Lakhs to four Women Self-Help Groups
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday inaugurated a new branch of UCO Bank in the village Bhelwan, located within the Farasabahar development block, from the Camp Office Bagiya. During the event, he presented a cheque of Rs 24 lakhs to 40 members of women’s self-help groups.
Chief Minister congratulated the villagers on the establishment of the new banking facility, stating, “This step is significant for financial inclusion and will greatly benefit the residents of Farasabahar and surrounding areas. Women will also be empowered to become self-reliant. Local residents will now have enhanced access to banking services for their daily needs.”
He presented cheques of Rs 6 lakhs each to women from four self-help groups of Joranda Jharia of Farasabahar development block, bringing the total disbursed amount to Rs 24 lakhs. Chief Minister congratulated the women on receiving the cheques. It is worth mentioning that under his initiative, various efforts are underway to connect women with employment opportunities. They are making strides in vegetable farming and business, and many are achieving self-reliance by engaging in activities related to pickle-making, papad production, and sericulture.
