Players from the Surguja District Woodball Association made the district proud with their outstanding performances at the 2025-26 All India Inter-University Woodball Competition held in Bhopal. The association’s talented players, Sandeep Sinha and Sakshi Kumari, representing the team of Sant Gahira Guru University, Surguja, won the silver medal with a superb performance in the mixed doubles event.
National coach Mr. Rajesh Pratap Singh stated that Sandeep Sinha and Sakshi Kumari, displaying excellent performance, won the silver medal in the stroke event mixed doubles, making Surguja proud. For the past several years, Surguja players have consistently won medals in woodball competitions, a result of the association’s regular training regime and the players’ hard work. Both players are studying at K.R. Technical College.
Pritam Jaiswal, Priyanshu Kushwaha, Deepak, Nikhil Gupta, and Nishant Bhagat also performed well in the competition, as did Anjil Preeti Toppo, Sneha Jaiswal, Shrijal Jaiswal, Monalisa Tigga, and Urmila Ekka in the women’s category. National referees from Surguja, Mr. Rajat Singh and Mr. Akash Dubey, who played important roles as judges in the competition, were honored by the organizers.
