As per the guidelines from Government of India, under the Swachhta Hi Seva campaign being run in SECL from September 14 to October 2, a Shramdan cleanliness campaign was conducted on 26 September 2024 at Chhath Ghat located on the banks of Arpa river in Bilaspur city.
In the campaign, more than 100 officers-employees and Safai Mitras cleaned the ghat and properly disposed the waste.
The main objective of this Shramdan cleanliness drive was not only to clean the Chhath Ghat but also to keep important water bodies like Arpa River clean and pollution free.
The campaign has helped in maintaining the natural beauty and cleanliness of Arpa River which is called the lifeblood of Bilaspur city, thereby ensuring conservation of clean water resources for the coming generations.
This collective effort by SECL and all stakeholders is an important step towards environment conservation, reminding us that it is our responsibility to keep our rivers clean.
