- Chief Minister inaugurated the 3-day Sitamau Literature Festival through video conference;
- scholars, speakers, artists and historians from across the country participated in the festival.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that Maharaj Kumar Shri Raghuveer Singh of Sitamau established the Nat Nagar Institute in 1974. Today, the institute is known as a pilgrimage site for researchers. With its 30,000 rare manuscripts, it is renowned as Asia’s library. Researchers not only from India but also internationally conduct PhD research on various subjects. Renowned historians and Hindi literary figures such as Shri Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, Shrimati Mahadevi Verma, Shri Sumitranandan Pant, and Shri Hazari Prasad Dwivedi are also associated with the institute. The institute houses significant manuscripts, including numerous documents related to the Indian freedom struggle, as well as important documents from the 1857 Revolution. This institute is an important center for Indian history, literature, and culture.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the virtual inauguration of the three-day second Sitamau Literature Festival through video conferencing. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav told the dignitaries present at the festival that you are welcome to this festival of cultural revival. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi organized the Somnath Swabhiman Parv and paid tribute to the martyrs who protected the nation and cultural heritage for thousands of years. The elevated peak of Somnath and the flag fluttering in the sky fill us with pride. Similarly, the Nat Nagar Research Institute is a priceless heritage of the world and the nation and is like a pilgrimage site. This internationally renowned institute located in Sitamau keeps information about our glorious past, from heritage to development.
The second Sitamau Sahitya Mahotsav is being organised at the Nat Nagar Research Institute in Sitamau. Scholars, speakers, artists and historians from across the country in the literary field are participating in the festival. The Sahitya Mahotsav has been developed as a “Knowledge Kumbh”. Planetarium-related activities are being organised with school children in it. Various stalls have also been set up by students in the festival, where books, paintings, dupattas, handkerchiefs, local products and food items will be available. MLA and former minister Mr. Hardeep Singh Dang, Director International Health and Human Resources Department Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Mr. Vivek Chaturvedi and a large number of literature lovers were present on the occasion of the inauguration of the Sahitya Mahotsav.
- Speakers and topics for the first day
On the first day of Sitamau Sahitya Mahotsav on 29th January, first of all Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Director International Health and Human Resources, New Delhi gave a lecture on “From the Pages of History”.
Shri Vivek Chaturvedi, poet and writer, delivered a lecture on “Magic of Words”, Shri Mir Ranjan Negi, former coach of Indian Women’s National Field Hockey Team delivered a lecture on “Sports and Life”, Shri Raghubir Yadav, Indian actor, poet, musician delivered a lecture on “Story and Theatre” and Jasu Manganiyar group performed on Swaranjali.
- Day 2 speakers and topics
On the second day of the festival, January 30th, Mr. Sanjeev Sanyal, Member of the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council, will deliver a lecture on “Geography of History.” Mr. Alok Srivastava will deliver a lecture on “Light of Words.” Prof. Ravindra Kumar Sharma will deliver a lecture on “Indian Culture and History.” Chambal Safari, featuring crocodile and otter sightings, will be celebrated. Kabir Studio will present a performance on “Swaragini in the Waves.” Stargazing will be conducted under expert guidance.
- Speakers and topics for the third day
On the third and final day of the festival, January 31st, Padmashree Gyan Chaturvedi will deliver a lecture on “Kisse Kahaniyan”, Sahitya Akademi Award winner Shri Jerry Pinto will deliver a lecture on “The World of Books” and environmentalist Shri Raza Kazmi will deliver a lecture on “Environmental Conservation”. Filmfare Award winner Shri Prashant Pandey will speak on “Suwasra se Filmfare tak ka journey”.
Activities like crocodile and otter watching, Chambal river safari, opium and quinoa farm visits etc. will also be organised in the literary festival.
