Managing Director of Raipur Smart City Limited, Mr. Abinash Mishra held a meeting of officials to maintain proper operation of road signals and cameras installed at the city’s intersections under Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS). The meeting was attended by zone officers of Municipal Corporation, Raipur Smart City Limited, in-charge of 24*7 water supply, Information Technology, Amrit Mission and representatives of L&T Group. On the instructions of Mr. Mishra, yesterday itself, the traffic police, Municipal Corporation and Smart City formed a joint team to inspect these cameras and signals, on the basis of which direct instructions were given to the concerned in today’s meeting. Chief Operating Officer of Raipur Smart City, Mr. Ujjwal Porwal was also present in the meeting.
MD Shri Mishra said that all departments should ensure through mutual coordination that the signals and cameras installed at the intersections remain functional. It was told in the meeting that due to necessary construction work, 8 signals and 12 cameras are currently closed, Shri Mishra has directed the concerned officials to complete the construction work within 7 days and make them functional. He also said that responsibility should be decided through mutual coordination and the concerned zone should also continuously monitor this system. On the instructions of Shri Mishra, the inter-departmental team is inspecting the operations every week and sharing its report with the concerned departments.
It is worth noting that under the ITMS system, currently 470 cameras and 50 ITMS signals are working in the city. These signals are being operated on the instructions of the traffic police, out of which 10 signals are operating on blinkers mode under the supervision of the traffic police.
