- Targets to remove 2200 metric tonnes of scrap, free up 30 lakh sq. ft. of space

Under the guidance of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances and the Ministry of Coal, Government of India, SECL, a subsidiary of Coal India in Chhattisgarh, will observe Special Campaign 4.0 from October 2 to October 31 this year. The campaign aims to promote cleanliness within government offices and expedite the resolution of pending cases and complaints.
SECL has planned to remove 2200 metric tonnes of scrap this time. This will enable about 30 lakh square feet of space to be freed and repurposed, under the campaign. It will also generate estimated additional revenue of about Rs 10 crore.
The company has also set a target of quick disposal of long pending files / e-files and complaints under the campaign.
Under this nationwide campaign, SECL will undertake the following activities during Special Campaign 4.0:
Resolution of public grievances: In line with the goal of the campaign to streamline governance by the company, pending references and public grievances will be identified and resolved on priority basis.
Location and record management: Attention will also be given to reviewing old files, disposal of scrap and identifying rules and procedures for simplification, which will increase operational efficiency and transparency.
Digital Governance: SECL will also work towards streamlining internal processes, reducing dependence on paperwork and promoting digital governance through the use of e-office.
In the first phase of the campaign, SECL is running special cleanliness campaigns to clean public places, especially rivers, under “Swachhata Hi Seva” from September 14 to October 2. Special events for the felicitation of Safai Mitras are also being held in HQ as well as all the operational areas.
Besides, Swachchta Ki Pathshala and street plays are also being organized to increase awareness among children about the campaign.
SECL is the second-largest coal company in India and operates more than 60 coal mines in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. SECL also operates the world’s two largest coal mines, Gevra and Kusmunda, in Korba district.
