- 11 new MOOCs courses launched on ‘e-training’ portal with the participation of Minister Shri Parmar
Higher Education, Technical Education, and AYUSH Minister Shri Inder Singh Parmar participated in the 62nd Foundation Day celebrations of the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Bhopal. The occasion clearly reflected the state’s commitment to the effective implementation of the National Education Policy 2020, strengthening teacher training, and the overall advancement of technical education.
Minister Shri Parmar stated that the true implementation of the National Education Policy is possible only through teachers. He stated that teachers are the fundamental drivers of this policy, whose quality, competence, and perspectives directly shape the future of students. Minister Shri Parmar emphasized the need for coordination among institutions, shared use of resources, and the promotion of innovation-based teaching methods to make education more relevant and effective in the changing global landscape.
Minister Shri Parmar launched 11 new Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) on the institute’s ‘e-training’ digital platform. These courses are based on emerging areas such as green energy technology, electric vehicles, digital CMOS, drone technology, augmented and virtual reality, and artificial intelligence and machine learning, which will equip teachers and students with the latest knowledge and skills. On this occasion, Minister Shri Parmar also released the institute’s annual training calendar.
Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department, Mr. Anupam Rajan, while praising the institute’s achievements, said that work will be done towards incorporating MOOCs courses developed by NITTTR in the state’s Prime Minister’s College of Excellence, so that students can benefit from academic credit. He stressed the need to develop teachers’ communication skills, encourage e-content creation, and make the benefits of the institute’s advanced laboratories available to as many students as possible.
The institute’s progress report noted that NITTTR Bhopal has evolved from a regional training center to a deemed-to-be university. The institute has launched new graduate programs under outcome-based education. The institute achieved significant success by training 9,000 participants during the year, against a target of 3,000. Additionally, the institute has strengthened national and international collaborations in technical education and research through agreements signed with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and the Nepal Engineering Council.
On this occasion, Director of Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal, Prof. Govardhan Das, Chairman of Madhya Pradesh Private University Regulatory Commission, Prof. Khem Singh Deharia, along with many educationists, Vice Chancellors, teachers and students were present.
