Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that God has specially written the destiny of the religious city of Ujjain. Anyone who visits Ujjain once finds their life transformed. This city, situated on the sacred banks of Mother Shipra, has existed since time immemorial and its glory has remained intact in every era. Ujjain, known in ancient times as Avantika and Ujjaini, is the abode of Shri Mahakaleshwar, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. On this special day of Varshapratipada, the arrival of Vikram Samvat 2083 was celebrated with joy throughout the city. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the inauguration of the Srishti Aarambh festival organized at Ujjain’s Ram Ghat as part of Vikramotsav-2026 on Thursday.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that while the world is using modern technologies like drones in warfare, the glimpses of gods and goddesses in Ujjain are presenting a unique confluence of faith and culture. This symbolizes the global acceptance of Sanatan culture. Nearly two thousand years ago, the great emperor Vikramaditya of Ujjain defeated foreign invaders, protected the nation, and set an example of good governance. His throne with 32 statues, the scholarship, bravery, and generosity of the nine gems remain a source of inspiration. Today, reviving this glorious saga of Vikramaditya, Vikramotsav-2026 is being organized across the state. This festival is not only a celebration of culture, but also a symbol of the restoration of good governance and administrative ideals.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that preparations for the upcoming Simhastha 2028 in Ujjain are also underway in full swing. This year’s Simhastha is set to be unprecedented and historic. All roads connecting Ujjain are being upgraded to four-lane and six-lane roads, while approximately 30 kilometers of new ghats are being developed on the banks of the Shipra River.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Ujjain is also being developed from a trade and industry perspective. Projects like Vikram Udyogpuri and the Medical Device Park are progressing rapidly. He said that the 12,500-acre industrial area has been fully developed, and a new park is being developed on an additional 5,000 acres. Additionally, plans for a new airport and helicopter services are being made to elevate religious pilgrimage. In the future, Ujjain will become not only a religious center, but also a cultural, industrial, and global center. When the grand Simhastha festival is unveiled to the world in 2028, the entire world will witness the splendor of Sanatan culture.
