Transparency and accountability should be ensured in the implementation of schemes to protect the interests of workers and for their overall development: Labour Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Devangan

  • Meeting of the Board of Directors of Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board organized

The meeting of the Board of Directors of Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board was held today on Thursday at the Board office in Nava Raipur. The meeting was chaired by Labor Minister Mr. Lakhan Lal Devangan. On this occasion, Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board Chairman Dr. Rampratap Singh, Labor Department Deputy Secretary Mr. Vipul Gupta, In-charge Labor Commissioner Mr. S.L. Jangde, Urban Administration Department Deputy Secretary Mr. Bhagwat Jaiswal, and Welfare Commissioner Mr. Sunil Mishra, along with the representative of the Government of India, Board Secretary Mr. Girish Ramteke and other senior officials were present.

In the meeting, it was decided that 100% registration of such construction workers registered under the Board who have not yet renewed their registration, should be renewed continuously till 30 April 2026. Workers are requested that their application for registration renewal can be made directly online at the District Labour Office, Public Service Centre, Shramev Jayate mobile app and departmental portal shramevjayate.cg.gov.in .

The meeting also decided to ensure transparency and accountability in the implementation of schemes to protect the interests of workers and ensure their overall development. On this occasion, Labor Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Devangan and Board Chairman Shri Rampratap Singh said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the state of Chhattisgarh is rapidly moving forward towards good governance, transparency and accountability. They also said that the state government is continuously committed to the welfare of construction workers and further steps are being taken to improve their living standards.

During the meeting, the Board approved the annual budget for the implementation of various welfare schemes for construction workers in the financial year 2026-27. This will enable more effective implementation of schemes related to workers’ social security, health, education, and economic empowerment.

The meeting also approved the development of the “e-Shram Saathi” mobile app to simplify and facilitate the process of obtaining employment for construction workers and to provide them with work opportunities according to their skills. Through this app, workers will be able to easily access employment-related information, registration services and benefits of various schemes. It was also decided to organize regular workers’ conferences at the district level to provide workers with information about the schemes run by the Board and the registration process, so that more and more workers can benefit from these schemes.
