- Water Supply Project worth Rs 56.78 crore to be commenced soon in Bhatgaon Municipality; Work Order Issued, Target Completion within Two Years
Under Amrit Mission 2.0, this water supply project, with an investment of Rs 56.78 crore, will source drinking water from the Mahanadi River by constructing a well at Gonda Anicut. The raw water will be transported through pipelines to the proposed water treatment plant for purification and subsequently made available to the residents of Bhatgaon. Currently, the town receives only 49 litres of water per person per day. After the implementation of this project, the supply will be enhanced to 135 litres per person per day.
The Bhatgaon Water Supply Project includes the construction of a water treatment plant with a capacity of 2 Million Litres per Day (MLD), three elevated service reservoirs with a combined capacity of 750 kilolitres, a 64-kilometre distribution pipeline, and the provision of 3,586 individual tap connections. The work order for the project was issued in August this year, and the project is expected to be completed within the next 24 months.
