Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai listened to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s address at the “Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan” broadcast from Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, at the Chief Minister’s residence office in the capital, Raipur, today. On this occasion, he said that this is a historic moment for the country’s women power, which will prove decisive in making India’s democratic structure more inclusive and strong.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that this effort to ensure women’s participation from “Panchayat to Parliament” clearly reflects the vision of a new India. He underscored the Prime Minister’s vision that women’s direct participation in decision-making is a strong foundation for a developed India.
He said that the discussion on ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Act’ in Parliament on April 16 is an important step towards giving concrete shape to this historic initiative.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that women have always been given a high place in India’s cultural tradition. From the Vedic period to the present day, the role of women has been extremely important in the formation and development of society. Various schemes of our double-engine government have strengthened this tradition in a modern context, enabling women to progress with self-reliance and dignity.
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that Chhattisgarh has prioritized women’s empowerment and taken several effective steps. Through 50 percent reservation in local bodies, women have gained leadership opportunities, the positive impact of which is clearly visible at the grassroots level. Initiatives like the “Mahatari Vandan Yojana” are empowering mothers and sisters economically and socially.

The Chief Minister said it is a happy coincidence that Chhattisgarh is celebrating the “Mahatari Gaurav Varsh” at a time when the country is witnessing a historic discussion on women’s reservations. He stated that respect for “Chhattisgarh Mahatari” and the active participation of women have become the state’s hallmark.
He called upon the state’s women and women’s organizations to raise their voices on every platform and play an active role in this journey of change. He expressed confidence that increasing women’s participation will further strengthen democracy and establish a new direction for positive change in society.
Chief Minister Shri Sai concluded by saying that when women are empowered, a nation becomes strong. It is time to ensure that half of the country’s population has their full rights and play a decisive role in mainstream development.
