Special programs were organized for farmers in various districts of Chhattisgarh to mark the release of the 24th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. On this occasion, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi transferred over ₹18,680 crore to the bank accounts of over 9.34 crore farmers across the country from Banaskantha, Gujarat. During the program, 521 units developed under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund were dedicated to the nation and 12 horticulture clusters were inaugurated. These programs were shown live to farmers.

In this connection, a special program was organized at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Bemetara, jointly with the Krishi Vigyan Kendra and the Agriculture Department. Chief guest Bemetara MLA Mr. Dipesh Sahu, District Council member Mr. Sushil Tandon, and village Jhal Sarpanch Mrs. Preeti Kamlesh Verma, along with 228 farmers, participated. Farmers watched the live broadcast of the Prime Minister’s program and learned about various initiatives related to agriculture and farmer welfare.

At the beginning of the program, Dr. Jitendra Joshi, Senior Scientist and Head of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, delivered a welcome address. He informed farmers about the importance and utility of the baler machine (Thamsmat Dumbipadam), explaining that this machine can convert paddy straw into small bundles. This helps in proper management of crop residues and reduces the problem of stubble burning.

Co-Director of Agriculture, Dr. Shyam Lal Sahu, stated that even small financial assistance in farming can be a significant support for farmers. The PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi funds can help farmers meet their agricultural needs. Special guests, Dr. A.K. Singh and the Dean of Rawendra Singh Verma College of Agriculture, Dholiya, urged farmers to take maximum advantage of the government’s various agricultural and farmer welfare schemes.

Through the program, farmers were informed about the Samman Nidhi, as well as initiatives related to modern agricultural techniques, crop residue management, and agricultural infrastructure. This served as an opportunity to connect farmers with schemes and raise awareness about scientific agricultural practices.
