In the holy month of Shravan, the capital Raipur today appeared immersed in devotion to Lord Bholenath. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai participated in the grand Kanwar Yatra organized at the Maruti Mangalam premises in Gudhiyari. Chief Minister Shri Sai performed Rudrabhishek and worship of Lord Shiva according to rituals and prayed for the prosperity, peace, happiness and well-being of Chhattisgarh and its people. He encouraged the Shiva devotees participating in the Kanwar Yatra and extended his greetings to everyone on the holy month of Shravan.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the month of Sawan is a special occasion for worship and devotion to Lord Shiva. In this holy month, the Kanwar Yatra is an unparalleled expression of our faith, devotion and dedication. Thousands of Shiva devotees set out on foot carrying holy water to perform the abhishek of Lord Bholenath. Amid the arduous journey, the enthusiasm and devotion of the Shiva devotees reveal the power of faith rooted in Sanatan culture.

The Chief Minister said that thousands of Kanwariyas have departed from the Maruti Mangalam premises in Gudhiyari carrying holy water for the Jalabhishek of Lord Hatkeshwarnath Mahadev at Mahadev Ghat. The entire atmosphere has become imbued with Shiva consciousness with the chants of the Shiva devotees and their devotion. This event is not merely a religious journey, but also a celebration of our culture, traditions and social unity.

Chief Minister Shri Sai, while highlighting the historical, religious and cultural significance of the Lord Hatkeshwarnath Mahadev Temple, said that this temple is a major center of Chhattisgarh’s ancient tradition of Shiva worship. The people of the state have deep faith in Lord Hatkeshwarnath, who is enshrined at Mahadev Ghat. Especially during the month of Shravan, a large number of devotees arrive here to perform Jalabhishek and worship Lord Shiva.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Chhattisgarh’s identity is rooted as much in its natural beauty and folk culture as it is in its deep spiritual traditions. The ancient Shiva shrines and Shakti Peethas located in different regions of the state bear witness to our rich religious and cultural heritage. The festivals, celebrations and religious journeys here keep society connected to its roots and values.

He said that religious events such as the Kanwar Yatra are an important means of introducing the younger generation to their culture, traditions and spiritual values. People from every section of society come together in such events. This strengthens the spirit of mutual harmony, social unity and inclusiveness. This very spirit of service, cooperation and togetherness is a distinctive feature of Chhattisgarh’s culture.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the preservation and promotion of our religious and cultural heritage is the collective responsibility of all of us. The state government is continuously working towards the development of major religious and spiritual sites in the state and expanding better facilities for devotees. This is giving our centers of faith a new identity while also expanding the possibilities of religious tourism.

Chief Minister Shri Sai extended his best wishes to all the Shiva devotees participating in the Kanwar Yatra and prayed to Lord Bholenath for the continued progress of the state. He said that the blessings of Devadhidev Mahadev always remain upon Chhattisgarh and its people. May every family have happiness, peace, prosperity and well-being, and may our Chhattisgarh continue to move forward on the path of development and public welfare.
