- In the first meeting of Shakambhari Board, the Chairman’s instructions, Agriculture, Horticulture, Market, Energy and Water Resources Department will jointly prepare an action plan.
Shri Rajendra Nayak, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Shakambhari Board, stated that the government’s priority is to ensure the benefits of agricultural and horticultural schemes reach the poor, backward, small and marginal farmers at the bottom of society. To achieve this, effective implementation of the schemes must be ensured by establishing better coordination between agriculture and related departments. He emphasized the need to strengthen the economic condition of small and marginal farmers, especially those with disabilities, stating that this is the primary objective of the Shakambhari Board.
- Instructions given to prepare a common action plan to increase the income of farmers
Addressing the “First Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Chhattisgarh State Shakambhari Board,” held on Monday at the Directorate of Horticulture and Field Forestry in Nava Raipur, Mr. Nayak directed officials from various departments to prepare a joint action plan to increase farmers’ income. He said that the Marar community’s contribution to the horticulture sector has been historic and significant, and therefore it is the government’s responsibility to ensure they receive a fair price for their hard work.
- Encourage small and marginal farmers to produce flowers.
Mr. Nayak said that although the Shakambhari Board was formed with the aim of uplifting the Marar-Patel community, the Board’s vision is linked to the welfare and prosperity of all farmers. Through the coordinated efforts of Agriculture, Horticulture, Water Resources, Energy, Commerce and Industry, and the Chhattisgarh State Agricultural Marketing (Mandi) Board, concrete initiatives will be taken to increase farmers’ income and promote modern agriculture. The meeting also agreed to encourage small and marginal farmers to grow horticultural crops and especially floriculture, to disseminate information about schemes to every village, and to maximize the benefits to eligible farmers through the district administration and related departments.
Board members Mr. Basant Patel, Mr. Premlal Patel, Mr. Santosh Patel and Mr. Prem Patel along with Horticulture Department Director Mr. Lokesh Kumar and Shakambhari Board Secretary Mr. Suresh Thakur, Joint Secretary Mr. Rajiv Ahare, Assistant Engineer Mr. Siddharth Pandey, Agriculture Mr. Jitendra Thakur and Water Resources Department Executive Engineers Mr. C.L. Devangan and Mr. C.B. Dhruv along with representatives of various departments were present in the meeting. Detailed information about the departmental schemes was presented by Deputy Director Horticulture Mr. Neeraj Shaha and Mr. Manoj Ambasht.
