With a pledge to ensure access to health services in remote and rural areas of the MCB district and to provide timely testing, treatment, and medical consultation to every individual, the “Saksham MCB Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026” was launched with great fanfare on Saturday from the Community Health Center, Khargawan. Chhattisgarh Government’s Minister for Public Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education, Backward Classes, and Minority Development, Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, launched the campaign.
On this occasion, a mega health camp was organised at Community Health Centre Khargawan, in which a large number of villagers took advantage of free health check-up, expert medical consultation and necessary treatment.
The objective of the campaign is to take health services to every village and every home instead of limiting them to hospitals and big health centres, so that people in remote areas can get the facility of timely detection of serious diseases, regular health check-ups and necessary treatment nearby.
- The Minister inaugurated the event from registration to lighting of lamps.
Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, upon reaching the venue, first inspected the registration table of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. He inquired about the registration process and the facilities being provided to the people coming to the camp. After this, he inspected the department-wise stalls of various diseases and health services and obtained information about tests, treatment and consultation from doctors and health workers.
After this, the minister formally inaugurated the mega health camp by lighting a lamp on the photograph of Chhattisgarh Mahatari.
- The campus resonated with Vande Mataram, the national anthem and the state song.
During the program, the national song “Vande Mataram,” the national anthem “Jana Gana Mana,” and the state song were performed. The entire campus reverberated with the melodies of the songs. Guests, public representatives, officials, doctors, health workers, and citizens participated in a standing posture. Following this, the guests present at the reception were welcomed and greeted.
- Specialist healthcare services at one stop
The mega health camp provided villagers with a variety of specialist services, including medicine, gynecology, pediatrics, cardiology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, dermatology, ENT, dentistry, and physiotherapy, all under one roof. Specialist doctors examined patients and provided necessary treatment and medical advice.
The camp included screening for non-communicable diseases, including blood pressure, diabetes, and cancer, as well as health checkups for women and adolescent girls, pregnant women, maternal and child health services, and special health checkups for senior citizens. This allowed residents of Khargone and surrounding rural areas to access specialist services nearby.
- Khargawan will be tuberculosis free on September 30
Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that providing health services to the last person is the government’s priority. He informed that Khargone district will be declared tuberculosis free on 30th September. Continuous efforts are being made to eradicate tuberculosis and work is being done towards making the diagnosis and treatment of the disease effective by increasing the reach of health services. Referring to the increase in the income of Jeevan Deep Committees of Khargone, Chirmiri and Manendragarh, the Minister said that this is the result of the tireless hard work and dedication of the people working in Jeevan Deep Committee. The role of Jeevan Deep Committees is important in improving the arrangements of health institutions.
- The health campaign will run from September 17 to October 17.
The Minister announced that a massive health camp will be held in Manendragarh on September 17th, the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Additionally, health camps and health screening campaigns will be held continuously from September 17th to October 17th. During this period, extensive health screenings will be conducted. Patients requiring advanced and specialized treatment will be referred to the appropriate location and provided by the government, ensuring that no needy individual is deprived of treatment due to the severity of their illness.
- Three-day camp in Chirmiri from September 30
The Health Minister informed that a three-day mega health camp will be organized in Chirmiri from September 30, which will conclude on October 2. He said that under the ‘Saksham MCB Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026’, health camps and check-up campaigns will be organized in various areas of the district to identify serious diseases and provide better treatment to needy patients. He said that this campaign is being organized on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Its objective is not just to organize a camp for one day, but to make health services available to the people on a large scale and to create awareness about regular health check-ups.
- Mental hospital and intensive care facility soon
The Minister stated that efforts are underway to open the mental hospital within the next one or two months. Work is also underway to establish intensive care units in Manendragarh and Chirmiri within a month. This will enable critically ill patients to receive the necessary medical assistance locally.
- Chirmiri railway project is also expected to be operational by January-February.
The Health Minister stated that the major railway project at Chirmiri Railway Station will be operational by January or February. He added that the project’s launch will give a new impetus to the region’s development. Facilities in the district are being expanded through health, transportation, and other development projects.
- Pledge to be health conscious
At the end of the program, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal made the attendees pledge to remain health conscious. He stressed the importance of regular health checkups, not ignoring symptoms of illness, and seeking timely medical advice instead of hiding illness. He stated that every individual plays an important role in building a healthy society. This campaign, launched with the message “Health is with you – MCB will always be special,” is a comprehensive effort to make health services accessible to everyone. The campaign, which began in Khargone, will reach various areas of the district in the coming days. Its goal is to provide health services to every village, health awareness to every home, and timely testing, treatment, and medical consultation to every individual.
