 ‘One Tree in the Name of Mother’ campaign spreads message of nature conservation and maternal respect

To promote public participation in environmental protection and to give the message of our responsibility towards nature, Union Minister for Rural Development, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today planted saplings under the campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ at the college ground in village Jetha of Sakti district.

Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan planted a Kadam tree, and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai planted an almond tree. Public representatives and officials present on the occasion also expressed their commitment to environmental protection and the expansion of greenery.

The “One Tree for Mother” campaign connects the spirit of maternal respect with the commitment to nature conservation. Through the campaign, people are encouraged to plant trees in honor of their mothers, as well as to protect and nurture them. Along with planting trees, instilling a sense of responsibility to care for them and nurture them into trees is also an important objective of this campaign.

This campaign is an initiative to broaden environmental protection, not limit it to government efforts alone, but to include public participation. Through the campaign, the message of increasing greenery, maintaining environmental balance, and creating a safe and clean environment for future generations is being conveyed through the participation of as many citizens as possible.

It is noteworthy that through the “One Tree in the Name of Mother” campaign, efforts are being made to transform environmental protection into a mass movement by connecting citizens across the country with tree planting. In this context, the tree planting by Union Minister Shri Chouhan and Chief Minister Shri Sai in Sakti district sends a message of sensitivity to nature and collective responsibility.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Sharma, District In-charge Minister Guru Khuswant Saheb, Janjgir-Champa MP Mrs. Kamlesh Jangde, Bilaspur Divisional Commissioner Mr. Sunil Jain, Vikasit Bharat Jiramji Commissioner Mr. Taran Prakash Sinha, Collector Mrs. Jayshree Jain, Superintendent of Police Mr. Prafull Thakur, District Panchayat CEO Mr. Vasu Jain along with public representatives and officials were present.
