Providing dignified housing to every needy family is the government’s priority: Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal

During his visit to Surguja, Tourism and Culture Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal arrived at Nagar Panchayat Lakhanpur, where he met with beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and engaged in a heartfelt dialogue with them. He inquired about the status of house construction, the benefits received from the scheme, and any needs or issues related to their housing. Minister Shri Agrawal stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the central and state governments are continuously working to connect poor and needy families with basic amenities. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is a significant example of this commitment, offering many families the opportunity to realize their dream of owning a permanent home.
Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal remarked that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is not merely a scheme for house construction; it is a vital initiative linked to the dignity, self-respect, security, and better future of poor families. The pledge taken by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to provide a permanent roof over the head of every needy family has brought about positive changes in the lives of lakhs of families across the country. Acquiring a permanent home has not only granted these families a safe and dignified life but has also strengthened their self-confidence and instilled new hope for the future.

He emphasized that it is the government’s priority to ensure that the benefits of public welfare schemes reach eligible beneficiaries in a transparent and effective manner. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has played a crucial role in bringing families from the margins of society into the mainstream of development. He reiterated that the government is committed to ensuring that no needy family remains deprived of a basic necessity like housing.

During his interaction with the beneficiaries, Minister Shri Agrawal listened attentively to their personal concerns and requirements regarding house construction. He stated that the true objective of government schemes is fulfilled only when their benefits reach the needy in a timely manner. He also urged officials and local public representatives to work with sensitivity and promptness to resolve the issues faced by beneficiaries and to ensure the effective implementation of schemes.

  • Call to strengthen public participation through the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’

Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal appealed to the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to actively participate in the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ (Service Pledge Campaign). He stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the spirit of service to the nation, public welfare, and public participation is being continuously strengthened. The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ is a significant effort to take this spirit to every section of society.

He urged beneficiaries to light an ‘Aashirwad ka Diya’ (Lamp of Blessings) in their homes at 7 PM on September 17 and join this pledge of service, dedication, and public participation. He remarked that the ‘Aashirwad ka Diya’ lit in homes would also convey a message of service and positivity to society.

Minister Shri Agrawal stated that the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ is not merely an event but an opportunity to connect every individual in society with the cause of service and social engagement. He noted that just as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has brought the light of security and happiness into the lives of needy families, the ‘Aashirwad ka Diya’ would serve as a medium to carry the spirit of service, trust, and resolve to every household.

He appealed to citizens, including the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, to ensure their participation in the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ by lighting the ‘Aashirwad ka Diya’ in their homes on September 17 and to encourage as many people as possible to join this initiative of public participation.

During the interaction, beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana shared their experiences with Minister Shri Agrawal and provided details about the benefits they received from the scheme. The beneficiaries mentioned that acquiring a pucca house (permanent home) has brought a sense of security and stability to their families and instilled hope for a better future. Minister Shri Agrawal listened to the beneficiaries and discussed suggestions regarding the improved implementation of government schemes.

Minister Shri Agrawal stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, numerous schemes are being implemented with a primary focus on the welfare of the poor and public service. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has enhanced the dignity and self-confidence of poor families by providing them with permanent housing. He stated that a strong foundation for a developed and self-reliant society can be laid only when every family has access to safe housing, a dignified life, and opportunities for advancement. This spirit of service and social commitment can be further expanded by strengthening public participation through the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’.
