- Administrative approval of ₹1,093.73 crore granted for 44 major road projects across 6 districts
The Government of Chhattisgarh has taken a significant step towards strengthening development and good governance in the Surguja division. Administrative approval totaling ₹1,093.73 crore has been granted for 44 major road projects aimed at strengthening the road network across all six districts of the division: Surguja, Surajpur, Balrampur-Ramanujganj, Koriya, Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, and Jashpur. These projects encompass the construction of new roads, widening, asphalt surfacing (blacktopping), strengthening, four-laning, and the construction of bridges and culverts at necessary locations.
- Surguja District
In the Ambikapur Assembly constituency, ₹69.10 crore has been approved for the four-lane widening of a 5 km stretch from Larangsai Chowk to the Ramanujganj route, and ₹61.34 crore for a 5 km four-lane stretch from Gandhi Chowk to the railway station. Works in the Lundra and Sitapur areas include the strengthening of various roads and culverts, such as the Askala-Dorna route and the Sontrai-Mainpat route (₹26.33 crore).
- Surajpur District
₹64.93 crore has been approved for the 63 km Tara-Premnagar-Ramanujnagar-Krishnapur route in the Bhatgaon Assembly constituency. Additionally, several other routes will be upgraded, including the Kalyanpur-Latori route (₹40.93 crore), the Vishunpur-Surajpur-Odgi route (₹32.24 crore), and the strengthening of the 17 km Surajpur Ring Road (₹16.39 crore). Balrampur-Ramanujganj District
Funds amounting to ₹38.80 crore have been sanctioned for the upgradation of the 18 km Paraswar-Chalgali road, ₹35.32 crore for the Wadrafnagar-Janakpur-Balangi road, and ₹25.69 crore for the Kameshwarnagar-Lurgi road. This will facilitate easier access to border areas.
- Jashpur District
Approval has been granted for ₹40.32 crore to strengthen the 55.80 km Ludeg-Bagbahar-Tapkara-Lawakera state highway, ₹36.85 crore for the upgradation of roads in the hilly areas of Pathalgaon, and ₹34.44 crore for the Batauli-Bagicha-Charaidand road.
