A delegation from the Chhattisgarh Travel and Tourism Association (CTTA) paid a courtesy visit today to the Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Religious Trusts, Shri Rajesh Agrawal. The meeting aimed to discuss promoting tourism in Chhattisgarh, expanding tourism activities, and effectively showcasing the state’s tourism potential on the national and global map. During the visit, the delegation invited Shri Agrawal to the World Tourism Day event scheduled for September 27 and briefed him on the program’s outline and objectives.
The delegation held detailed discussions with Shri Rajesh Agrawal regarding the prospects of tourism development in Chhattisgarh. Various suggestions were shared concerning the promotion of tourism in the state, the expansion of tourist amenities, the effective publicity of tourist destinations, and increasing the participation of stakeholders associated with the tourism sector.
While deliberating on the development of the tourism sector with the delegation members, Shri Rajesh Agrawal remarked that Chhattisgarh holds immense potential for natural, cultural, religious, historical, and tribal tourism. He noted that the state’s tourist destinations could be made even more popular among domestic and international tourists through improved facilities, effective promotion, and active participation from the private sector.
He emphasized that tourism is not merely a means of travel but also a vital instrument for strengthening the rural economy and creating local employment and self-employment opportunities. Economic opportunities are being provided to local youth, women, artisans, artists, homestay operators, and small business owners across various tourism-related sectors.
Minister Shri Agrawal stated that continuous dialogue and coordination between the government and tourism-related organizations could give fresh momentum to tourism development in Chhattisgarh. Acknowledging the value of the suggestions and experiences shared by the tourism industry representatives, he affirmed that collective efforts could effectively showcase the state’s tourism potential to the world. On this occasion, a delegation from the Chhattisgarh Travel and Tourism Association requested Mr. Rajesh Agrawal to participate in the event scheduled for September 27 to mark World Tourism Day. Mr. Agrawal gladly accepted the invitation and assured them of his presence at the event.
Regarding the World Tourism Day celebrations, the delegation explained that the event would serve as a significant platform to showcase Chhattisgarh’s tourism potential, diverse cultural heritage, and natural beauty on a grand scale, while also strengthening dialogue and cooperation among various stakeholders in the tourism sector.
The delegation expressed its gratitude to Tourism Minister Mr. Rajesh Agrawal for the guidance and support he has been providing for the development of tourism in the state. They stated that through the coordinated efforts of the Tourism Department, tourism-related organizations, and local stakeholders, positive results could be achieved in establishing Chhattisgarh as a premier tourism destination in the country.
