Today, Raipur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. Sambit Mishra personally inspected the progress of administrative arrangements for the immersion of Lord Ganesha idols in the capital city, specifically focusing on the immersion pond near Mahadevghat in Zone 8. The Commissioner issued necessary directives to the concerned officials regarding the preparations for the immersion pond and all other essential administrative arrangements.
Accompanied by Additional Municipal Commissioner Mr. Vinod Pandey, Zone 8 Commissioner Mrs. Rajeshwari Patel, and Zone 8 Health Officer Mr. Sandeep Verma, Commissioner Sambit Mishra visited the immersion pond site near Mahadevghat to review the progress and preparations. He directed that all essential requirements—such as cranes, boats, boatmen, divers, life jackets, lighting, platforms, public address systems, pandals, first-aid centers, fire tenders, and other administrative necessities—be fully completed on a priority basis today, ensuring that devotees have excellent administrative facilities for the immersion of Lord Ganesha idols. The Commissioner also inspected the cleanliness arrangements and the status of preparations at the site.
It was reported that devotees arriving at the Mahadevghat immersion pond for the reverent immersion of Lord Ganesha idols are depositing worship materials into designated drums after the rituals; these drums are being continuously monitored and emptied into Municipal Corporation ‘Tata Ace’ sanitation vehicles to maintain cleanliness. Sanitation arrangements are being continuously inspected and monitored at the zonal level. The Commissioner instructed officials to prioritize and immediately finalize all administrative preparations to ensure the immersion pond site near Mahadevghat is fully ready for the immersion of Lord Ganesha idols before the Anant Chaturdashi festival on September 25.
