- Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma Administers Oath of Office and Secrecy to Newly Elected Office-Bearers
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma attended the swearing-in ceremony of the Chhattisgarh State Folk Artists’ Welfare Association as the chief guest. He administered the oath of office and secrecy to the association’s newly elected office-bearers and members. On this occasion, he also gave assurances regarding the provision of better facilities for folk artists and the construction of a studio to promote their art.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma stated that Chhattisgarh is defined by its rich folk art, culture, and traditions. Through their talent and art, folk artists are showcasing the state’s cultural heritage to the nation and the world. Appreciating the artists’ contributions, he emphasized the need to provide better opportunities and facilities to preserve folk art and pass it on to the next generation. Acknowledging the artists’ needs, he assured them of necessary support and initiatives for the construction of a studio. The availability of a studio would provide artists with better facilities for practicing their art, training, recording, and preparing for performances.
During the event, the newly elected office-bearers of the association pledged to discharge their responsibilities with dedication and to promote Chhattisgarh’s folk art and culture. The program was attended by Zila Panchayat Vice-President Shri Kailash Chandravanshi, Shri Maniram Sahu, senior office-bearers of the association, a large number of folk artists, and local citizens.
