An ‘Official Language Fortnight’ (Rajbhasha Pakhwada) is being observed in the Bilaspur Division from 14 September to 28 September 2026. Under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Shri Rakesh Ranjan and the able leadership of the Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Operations) and Additional Chief Official Language Officer, the Official Language Department is organizing various activities to promote and propagate the Official Language among officers and staff during this period.
In this sequence, the quarterly meeting of the Divisional Official Language Implementation Committee was held today in the Divisional Conference Hall, presided over by Divisional Railway Manager Shri Rakesh Ranjan. Additional Chief Official Language Officer and Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Operations) Shri K. Srinivas, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Infrastructure) Shri Jamna Shankar Meena, and committee members were present at the meeting.
During the meeting, the Officer-in-Charge (Official Language) presented a review of the progress made regarding the Official Language during the April–June 2026 period, in accordance with the Railway Board’s standard agenda, via a PowerPoint presentation.
In his presidential address, the Committee Chairman and Divisional Railway Manager stated that the implementation of the Official Language should not be limited merely to statistics and targets. True success would be achieved when employees feel comfortable working in Hindi and officers themselves set an example by using Hindi.
Following the meeting, a Hindi quiz competition was organized for officers, in which officers from various departments of the division participated enthusiastically. The competition featured interesting questions related to current affairs and general knowledge, as well as topics concerning the Railways and the Official Language. A total of 12 officers participated in the competition. Shri Rajiv Soni, Assistant Divisional Electrical Engineer (Operation), secured the first position; Shri C.M.P. Beck, Assistant Divisional Safety Officer, secured the second position; Shri Rakesh Singh, Senior Divisional Operations Manager (General), and Smt. Poonam Chaudhary, Senior Divisional Finance Manager, secured the third position; and the ‘Prerna Puraskar’ (Inspiration Award) was awarded to Shri Ajay Kumar Singh, Assistant Divisional Electrical Engineer (General).
