Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the Public Distribution System is being effectively implemented to ensure food security for the needy families of the state. Under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026, with the spirit of ‘Service is my contribution’, ration is being provided to 2 lakh 69 thousand 20 ration card holder families in Jashpur district through 501 fair price shops.
The system of food grain distribution through e-POS machines is in place in all the fair price shops of the district. Ration items are being provided to the beneficiaries as per their eligibility through Aadhar linked ration cards. This technology based system is helping in making the public distribution system more transparent and streamlined.
- More than 2.52 lakh BPL ration card holder families are getting benefits.
The food officer stated that there are 252,419 BPL and 16,601 APL ration card-holding families in Jashpur district. Thus, a total of 269,020 ration card-holding families in the district are connected to the public distribution system.
- Ration is reaching every village from 501 fair price shops
Food grains are being delivered to urban areas, remote rural and forest areas, and other areas through 501 fair price shops operating in Jashpur district. Ration is distributed through e-POS machines based on verification by the head of the ration card or members linked to Aadhaar.
Food grains are provided to beneficiaries every month according to the eligibility criteria for different ration card categories. This ensures food security for needy families and helps ensure the benefits of the public distribution system reach eligible beneficiaries.
The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department ensures food security for needy citizens through the public distribution system and also manages the procurement of paddy and maize from farmers at the support price. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, continuous efforts are being made in Jashpur district to ensure the benefits of the government’s food security schemes reach the last person through technology and a transparent system.
