- 15 families got safe shelter
Amidst the torrential rains continuing across the state, Dhamtari district has exemplified disaster management. Fifty-four members of 15 affected families, displaced by waterlogging and flooding, have been safely evacuated and accommodated in a relief camp set up at the Madhurima Skill Development Center in the colliery. This center is proving to be a significant support for the affected people in this time of crisis.
The district administration has promptly made adequate arrangements for food, tea, snacks, rest, clean drinking water, and health facilities at the relief camp. Particular attention is being paid to the needs of women, children, and the elderly, ensuring they feel a sense of belonging and trust, along with a safe environment.
The Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat and the SDM Dhamtari are regularly inspecting the relief camp to assess the ground arrangements. Both officers are communicating directly with the affected families, listening to their problems, and issuing on-the-spot guidelines to the concerned officials.
The Dhamtari district administration has appealed to citizens and local residents to maintain a safe distance from overflowing rivers and streams, flooded areas, and places with strong currents.
