Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai visited the flood-affected areas of Sukma district today to meet the affected families and inquire about their well-being. He inspected various flood-hit areas, including Shabrinagar, Srinagar, and Linepara. Visiting relief and health camps, he reviewed the arrangements and engaged in heartfelt conversations with the affected families to understand their problems and needs.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai assured the affected families that the state government stands firmly and sensitively with them during this hour of crisis. He promised that families whose houses, household goods, or other assets suffered damage due to the floods would receive assistance in accordance with the rules, and all necessary steps would be taken for relief and rehabilitation.
Chief Minister Shri Sai inspected the relief and health camp set up in Shabrinagar. He inquired about the health facilities, food, drinking water, and other essential arrangements available at the camp. During the visit, he went among the affected people staying at the camp, personally served them food, and inquired about their well-being with warmth and empathy.
The Chief Minister also visited the homes of flood-affected families. He spoke with family members to understand the situation during the floods and the extent of the damage, while also offering them words of comfort and reassurance. He instructed officials to be mindful of the difficulties faced by the affected families and ensured that there would be no delay in providing assistance. It is noteworthy that heavy rainfall on September 23 and 24 led to flooding and waterlogging in several areas of Sukma district. Relief operations and health camps are being conducted in the affected regions.
Needy families are being provided with immediate assistance, dry rations, and warm clothing. To prevent waterborne diseases, measures such as regular health check-ups, chlorination of drinking water sources, and necessary sanitation protocols are being implemented.
Chief Minister Mr. Sai also assessed the flood damage in the Konta area. Recent continuous rainfall caused the water level of the Sabari River to rise, resulting in inundation in riverside villages as well as four wards of the Konta Municipality. Arrangements for accommodation, food, drinking water, and other essentials have been made at 19 relief centers for those affected in the Konta area.
The Chief Minister inspected houses damaged by the floods and interacted with the affected families. He directed officials to prioritize the assessment of damage caused to houses, household goods, and other assets. The Chief Minister clearly stated that eligible affected persons should be promptly provided with compensation as per the provisions of RBC 6-4.

Chief Minister Mr. Sai directed that additional financial assistance be provided to families whose household belongings were damaged by the floods. He stated that approximately 300 such affected families would receive additional aid of ₹10,000 each from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. This amount will be in addition to the assistance received based on eligibility under RBC 6-4.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to extend all possible support to help flood-affected families return to normalcy. He emphasized that the entire process—from damage assessment to the distribution of relief funds—should be carried out with sensitivity and promptness, ensuring that no eligible family is deprived of assistance. Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that, following the relief operations in flood-affected areas, rehabilitation efforts must now be accelerated.
Providing timely government assistance to families who suffered losses during this disaster—while addressing their specific needs—is the top priority.
