Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s 25 years of public service have been an inspiring journey of service, dedication, and commitment to public welfare. Efforts to spread this spirit of service to the masses and ensure timely access to government schemes and health services for those in need are yielding positive results in Mahasamund district as well. The story of 12-year-old Kumari Taruna Yadav, a 7th-grade student at Government Primary School Bhanpur in Bagbahara Block, exemplifies this public service.
Suffering from a congenital heart condition since childhood, Taruna had difficulty playing, running, and climbing stairs. Her family considered it a common weakness. The Chirayu team, which arrived at the school for health checkups, took Taruna’s health concerns seriously. Through examination and medical consultation, her congenital heart condition was identified. This timely diagnosis facilitated treatment. Upon confirmation of the condition, the health department immediately initiated Taruna’s treatment. She was referred to MMI Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospital in Raipur for treatment. After necessary tests by specialist doctors, she underwent a free heart operation. The family faced no financial difficulties during the treatment, and the child received excellent medical care through the government health system.
Taruna’s health has improved significantly since the operation. She is now healthier than before and able to participate in normal activities. Playing, walking, and daily activities have become easier than ever. The smile on Taruna’s face and the hope for a healthy future are the family’s greatest joys. Taruna’s family expressed their gratitude to the Chirayu team and the Health Department for timely diagnosis, support in the treatment process, and providing free heart surgery.
