As part of the “Seva Sankalp Abhiyan” (Service Sankalp Campaign) run by the Women and Child Development Department, the “Angan Milan” program was launched with great enthusiasm at Anganwadi centers in Narayanpur district. The program was held in Anganwadi centers in various sectors and projects across the district, including Amgaon, Belgaum, Orchha, Kohkameta, Benur, and Chhotedongar, as well as in remote areas. Local representatives, women, and citizens participated in large numbers in the main event held at the Anganwadi Center in Banglapara, Municipal Area, on Monday. The centers were beautifully decorated and displayed the importance of a balanced and nutritious diet for children through rangoli.
- Interaction with children, friendly atmosphere
During the program, guests and public representatives introduced themselves to the children, interacted with them, and learned about their interests and activities. The primary objective of this initiative is to convey the message that Anganwadi centers are not just places for distributing nutritious food, but are also powerful centers for the holistic and all-round development of children.
- Traditional rituals of baby shower and Annaprashan
During the “Angan Milan,” traditional rituals were followed for pregnant women and the Annaprashan ceremony for infants who had completed six months. On this occasion, women were made aware of the necessary precautions during pregnancy, regular checkups, and a balanced diet. The importance of timely introduction of supplementary nutrition for infants through Annaprashan was highlighted.
- Information on community participation and departmental schemes
Anganwadi workers provided detailed information to the mothers and parents about departmental schemes related to vaccination, early childhood care, education, and maternal and child health. District Panchayat members, councilors, and other women representatives actively participated in the program.
Under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, similar public participation programmes will be organised continuously in all the Anganwadi centres of the district in the coming days so that nutrition, health and child development services can be effectively delivered to the last person.
