- Encouragement to Adopt a Healthy Lifestyle
A medical health and awareness camp was successfully organized by the Loco Health Unit, Bilaspur, at the Loco Shed of the South East Central Railway (Bilaspur Division). The initiative aimed to provide better health facilities to contractual employees, promote overall well-being, reinforce preventive healthcare habits, and raise awareness about adopting a healthy lifestyle.
The camp placed significant emphasis on nutrition, healthy living, and the overall well-being of families. Contractual employees were educated on the importance of a balanced and nutritious diet, maintaining a regular daily routine, and adopting a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, awareness was raised regarding responsible child-rearing—focusing on children’s health and mental development—and the need to limit the excessive use of mobile phones and digital devices to ensure a happy family environment.
Comprehensive health check-ups were conducted for a total of 38 contractual employees. Various essential health tests were performed to evaluate their overall health status. These included anthropometric measurements, Body Mass Index (BMI) checks, blood pressure monitoring, and random blood sugar testing; all employees also received tetanus vaccinations.
Clinical screening for anemia and a general health assessment were also carried out. Based on these evaluations, employees were advised on adopting healthy lifestyles, improving their dietary habits, and taking necessary health precautions. Medical department inspectors and staff, including Dr. Shashank, actively participated in the camp.
