- Allocation of ₹182 Crore for Chhattisgarh
Chhattisgarh’s Agriculture Minister, Shri Ramvichar Netam, attended the National Agriculture Conference held in New Delhi today. Agriculture ministers, agricultural scientists, experts from the agricultural sector, and senior officials from across the country participated in this conference, held on September 28 and 29. Discussions were held to formulate a comprehensive action plan for the upcoming Rabi crop season in the presence of the Union Minister of Agriculture, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and the Minister of State.
At the conference, Agriculture Minister Shri Netam stated that significant discussions took place regarding ensuring better performance in Chhattisgarh’s agricultural sector and effectively implementing various components of the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (National Agriculture Development Scheme). The objective is to extend the benefits of agricultural schemes to the maximum number of farmers in Chhattisgarh, reduce agricultural costs, and take effective steps to increase farmers’ income.
He informed that during the conference, Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan released an allocation of ₹182 crore for Chhattisgarh and handed over the formal letter regarding the same. Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan on behalf of the state’s farmers, he remarked that this fund would play a crucial role in giving new momentum to agricultural development in Chhattisgarh.
Agriculture Minister Shri Netam stated that this fund would also strengthen the ‘Viksit Sankalp Abhiyan’ (Developed Resolution Campaign) being implemented in the state. Additionally, farmers will be encouraged to achieve better production through the upcoming ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyan’ (Save the Farm Campaign). This assistance will also be effectively utilized to expand the acreage under pulses and oilseeds, boost agricultural production, and ensure better returns for farmers.
Minister Shri Netam stated that the Chhattisgarh government aims to maximize benefits for the state’s farmers through better coordination between Central Government schemes and the state’s agricultural policies. Continuous efforts are being made to increase farmers’ income in the agricultural sector through new technologies, reduced costs, and improved production. He stated that this assistance received from the Central Government would further accelerate agricultural development in Chhattisgarh and help the state achieve better performance in the agricultural sector. He expressed his gratitude to the Central Government for this.
