On the first day of the two-day selection trials organized by the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare for admission (renewal and new entry) into the non-residential football, archery, hockey, and athletics academies in Raipur district, the registered players underwent registration, document verification, physical efficiency tests, and medical examinations. The sports skills of the registered players will be assessed tomorrow, October 1, the second day of the trials.

A total of 144 players have registered for selection across the four non-residential academies. Under the supervision of departmental officials and expert coaches, the registration, document verification, and medical examinations for these football, archery, hockey, and athletics players were conducted today. As part of the physical efficiency assessment, various physical parameters and activities were evaluated, including height, weight, vertical jump, 30-meter sprint, shuttle run, ball throw, 800-meter run, and sit-ups.
Tomorrow, October 1—the second day of the trials—the sports skills of the registered players will be assessed. Following this, the selection committee will make the final selection of players for training at the academies based on their outstanding performance.
