- Chitrotpala Film City to be developed as a green and eco-sensitive complex with modern film production facilities
On the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, taking a significant initiative towards environmental protection and green cover expansion, launched a massive tree-planting campaign at the proposed Chitrotpala Film City complex located at Mana-Tuta. The three-day campaign aims to plant approximately 1,000 trees within the Film City complex.
The tree plantation drive was initiated in the presence of Mr. Saumil Ranjan Choubey, Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board. Mrs. Poonam Sharma, Deputy General Manager of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, the Sarpanch of Tuta village, Tourism Board officials and employees, and local villagers enthusiastically participated in the event. Managing Director Mr. Choubey, along with officials, employees, and villagers, personally planted trees, conveying the message of environmental protection and a greener future.
A plan is underway to develop Chitrotpala Film City into a center equipped with modern film and audio-visual production facilities. Maintaining environmental balance in the project area, increasing green cover, and developing green areas in a planned manner have also been made an important part of the Film City’s development concept.
- Environmental protection will be given priority along with development.

During the development of the Film City project, special attention will be paid to preserving and enhancing the natural and environmental character of the complex, along with the creation of necessary infrastructure. To this end, tree planting, landscaping, and green space expansion activities will be carried out in a phased manner.
The Tourism Board’s vision is to ensure that Chitrotpala Film City not only becomes a modern hub for film production in the future, but also establishes its unique identity through its natural beauty, greenery, and environmental sensitivity. The green space being developed within the complex will help provide a natural and attractive environment along with modern amenities to future artists, filmmakers, technicians, tourists, and other visitors.
- Developing a green campus with modern amenities is our endeavor: Shri Saumil Ranjan Choubey

Managing Director of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, Mr. Saumil Ranjan Choubey, stated that Chitrotpala Film City will be developed with modern and high-end facilities, while environmental protection will also be given utmost priority. Integrating development and environmental protection is a crucial part of the project’s action plan. While infrastructure development is essential, efforts will be made to maximize green cover within the complex by adopting a balanced approach, taking environmental considerations into account.
He stated that the three-day tree plantation campaign launched on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti is part of this vision. The target is to plant approximately 1,000 trees under the campaign. Our aim is not only to plant trees, but also to ensure their regular care and survival. In the future, efforts will be made to develop Chitrotpala Film City into a beautiful, well-organized, green, and environmentally sensitive complex with modern film production facilities.
- Special focus on conservation and care after planting

The tree planting campaign will not be limited to just three days. Special attention will be paid to ensuring the protection, regular irrigation, necessary maintenance, and optimal survival of the planted trees. The concerned officials will periodically review the condition of the plants and ensure necessary arrangements are made.
During the campaign, the officials, staff, and villagers present pledged to protect and regularly care for the planted trees. Various parts of the campus were also inspected and the possibilities for developing more green areas in the future were also considered.
- Message of environmental protection given through collective participation
The campaign was marked by the participation of local villagers and Tourism Board officials and employees. By planting trees collectively, everyone conveyed their responsibility towards nature and the environment. Organized on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, this campaign conveyed the message that tourism and related infrastructure development must be balanced with the protection of nature and the environment.
Along with tourism development, the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board prioritizes conservation of natural resources, environmental balance, and sustainable tourism. This tree planting campaign launched at Chitrotpala Film City is an important step in this direction. As the Film City develops, tree planting, green cover expansion, and plant conservation activities will continue in a phased manner within the campus.
