On this occasion, for the first time in Chhattisgarh, four development blocks—Khargwan, Sonhat, Batauli, and Gharghora—were declared TB-free, earning the distinction of being the first TB-free blocks not only in Chhattisgarh but in India.
Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, who was present at the event, stated that TB eradication is not solely the responsibility of the Health Department, but also the collective responsibility of every section of society. By combining the energy of youth and public participation with the TB eradication campaign, this campaign can be given new momentum.

He said that through ‘Josh Team’, youth associated with My Bharat and NCC will make people in their areas aware about the symptoms, testing, treatment and prevention of TB. Active participation of youth will help in spreading the message of TB eradication to every village and every person.
On this occasion, 4676 TB free Panchayats of the state for the year 2025 were honored at the district level.

  • The Director of Health Services said that the achievement of four development blocks has become an inspiration.

The declaration of four development blocks in Chhattisgarh as TB-free for the first time is an important achievement of the state’s TB eradication campaign. This achievement is the result of the collective efforts of the Health Department as well as the district administration, public representatives, health workers, Mitanins, Nikshay Mitras, voluntary organizations and the community.
