The Chhattisgarh government’s much-anticipated Bastar Olympics 2026 is about to begin. Organized under the theme “Our Sports, Our Bastar, Our Identity,” this sports festival will provide a major platform for Bastar’s sporting talents to showcase their abilities and skills. Registration will continue from October 1st to 30th. Significantly, there is tremendous enthusiasm among the youth in Sukma district for sports, and so far, 36,224 athletes have registered.
Looking at the block-wise data for Sukma district, Sukma block leads with 14,489 registrations. Konta has 10,190 players, and Chhindgarh block has 11,545. This enthusiasm is further strengthening hopes for the Bastar Olympics to have a wide-reaching impact and be a successful event.
Talent will be showcased in 11 sports. Players will showcase their talent in a total of 11 sports disciplines including athletics, archery, football, karate, kabaddi, volleyball and kho-kho. Along with the junior category of 14 to 17 years, senior male and female players will also participate in the competition. The first phase of the competitions will be held from 1 to 13 November at the development block level, the second phase from 16 to 25 November at the district level and the final phase will be held from 7 to 11 December at the division level.
A new identity will emerge from the sports grounds of Bastar. The district administration has made registration available through mobile link or QR code, while Aadhaar card number is mandatory. Bastar Olympics is not just a sports competition, but a campaign to provide recognition, opportunity and new direction to the talent of local youth. Now thousands of players from Bastar have their eyes set on the field, where they will showcase their skills and fulfill their dream of bringing glory to Bastar and Chhattisgarh through sports.
