Exhibition of critical and strategic minerals is attracting people


An attractive exhibition of minerals of important and strategic importance found in Chhattisgarh has been organized at the Rajyotsav Mela Ground in Nava Raipur Atal. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai visited the exhibition on November 5. Minerals of strategic importance were also displayed in the exhibition. Along with the exhibition of minerals, information about its importance and use has also been displayed. On this occasion, Secretary to the Chief Minister and Secretary of Mineral Department, Mr. P. Dayanand and Director of Mineral Department, Mr. Sunil Jain were also with him.

The Mineral Department’s stall shows the contribution of minerals of critical and strategic importance available in Chhattisgarh state in realizing the vision of self-reliant India. It is worth noting that critical and strategic minerals play an important role for a developed Chhattisgarh and a developed India. These minerals include lithium, titanium, nickel graphite, gluconite, tin etc. These minerals are used in defense, energy, communication, space and nuclear industries. Which is very important for the country’s economy and security.

The Mineral Department plans to allocate 39 main mineral blocks through e-auction in the year 2024-25. The efforts and outstanding achievements made by the Mineral Department for successful allocation of important mineral blocks in the country through e-auction have been recognized by the India Mineral Development Corporation. He has been awarded 02 National Awards by the Government.

The Mineral Department has auctioned 07 blocks of various types of critical and strategic minerals. Chhattisgarh state is the first state in the country where lithium minerals have been allotted through e-auction of Katghora Lithium Block located in Korba district. The mining and processing of these minerals will play a significant role in the economy of Chhattisgarh and Chhattisgarh will be an important state among the major mineral producing states of the country.

As a result of extensive changes made in the Mineral Acts and Rules by the Government of India in the year 2015, the way has been paved for the allocation of mineral blocks through e-auction, as a result of which a total of 37 major mineral blocks have been successfully auctioned in the state so far. Successfully allotted Out of these blocks, 09 mineral blocks of bulk minerals like iron ore, limestone and bauxite besides critical, strategic and deep-seated minerals like graphite, glauconite, nickel chromium PGE and gold have been successfully allotted.

Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country where the first limestone mineral block was allotted through e-auction and similarly the first lithium block in the country was also allotted in Chhattisgarh. 37 main minerals have been allotted through auction in the state so far In addition to royalty, DMF and NMET, the state will receive auction premium of more than Rs 1.25 lakh crore from the blocks during the mining period.
