- Stolen property worth approximately Rs 1.9 crore seized in Vidisha and Khargone districts
In order to strengthen law and order in the state and take action against criminals, Madhya Pradesh Police is continuously taking strict measures under its “zero tolerance” policy. In this regard, within the last 48 hours, Vidisha and Khargone police have achieved significant success in solving two separate major crimes and recovering property worth approximately ₹19 million.
Vidisha: Robbery worth Rs 1 crore exposed, vigilance of ‘Dial-112’ proved decisive
Vidisha Police have successfully solved a sensational robbery that occurred in the village of Raikhedi, under the jurisdiction of the Tyoda police station. In this operation, police arrested four main accused and a juvenile delinquent and recovered 44 tolas of gold, 1 kg 300 grams of silver, ₹10 lakh in cash, five mobile phones, a motorcycle, a country-made pistol (.315 bore), and a sword, estimated to be worth approximately ₹1 crore.
The vigilance and prompt action of the Dial-112 police force in the Rahatgarh police station area of Sagar district proved crucial in solving this robbery. During night patrols and response, an accused gang member was attempting to flee after committing a robbery in Vidisha and dropped the stolen property on the road. Acting swiftly, the Dial-112 police force arrested the accused along with the stolen property on the spot. Based on these crucial clues, further investigations were steered and the entire gang was uncovered. Based on analysis of over 300 CCTV cameras and scientific evidence, special teams of Vidisha police arrested four gang members and a juvenile delinquent and recovered the entire property from their possession.
Khargone: Goods worth Rs 90 lakh recovered from gang involved in house thefts
The Barwah police of the district has taken action and arrested a vicious gang that targeted empty houses and shops. After just 48 hours of hard work and technical analysis, the police have taken into custody two accused and one juvenile offender. During interrogation, the accused admitted hiding the stolen goods in a garbage heap. On the information given by the accused, the police have seized goods worth approximately Rs 90 lakh including 300 grams of gold bars, 05 kilograms of silver bars, other jewellery and cash.
Both operations demonstrate the Madhya Pradesh Police’s swift response, excellent inter-district coordination, and cutting-edge technical investigation (CCTV analysis and cyber cell). In Vidisha, the robbers were apprehended through the coordination of Dial 112 and special teams, while in Khargone, the thieves were traced through a local informant network and meticulous scrutiny of CCTV footage.
Madhya Pradesh Police appeals to citizens to immediately report any suspicious activity around them by dialing 112 or calling the nearest police station. Citizen vigilance is the foundation of a safe society.
