Today, Korba has donned a crown from the Golden Book of World Records, whose brilliance will shine not only in the country but also globally. Dr. Manish Vishnoi, Asia Head of the Golden Book of World Records, while announcing this world record, said that the record created by Korba today is the “rarest of the rare record” in the world. He said, “I am amazed; this achievement of Korba is historic. This is the first time that any record has been broken by such a double margin.” He further added that the record for obtaining 7594 signatures on a single banner for a cleanliness pledge within one hour belonged to Pithoragarh city in Uttarakhand, which Korba has shattered by obtaining 15,500 signatures in just 20 minutes, creating a record that will be difficult to break. After extensive preparations carried out by the Korba Municipal Corporation in collaboration with the district and police administration over the past week, a grand event was held today, February 6th, to set a Golden Book of World Records for signing a 280-meter-long banner with a cleanliness pledge. The event was graced by the presence of the state’s Industry Minister, Shri Lakhanlal Dewangan, as the chief guest. Korba Collector Shri Kunal Dudawat, Superintendent of Police Shri Siddharth Tiwari, and BJP District President Gopal Modi were also present as special guests. The event was hosted by Mayor Smt. Sanju Devi Rajput, Commissioner Shri Ashutosh Pandey, and Speaker Shri Nutan Singh Thakur. Corporation councilors and public representatives, district administrative officers, journalists, representatives of various social organizations, school students, members of women’s self-help groups, and officers and employees of the Korba Municipal Corporation, along with the citizens of Korba, participated actively in the event.




Our Korba will also become number one in the Swachh Survekshan ranking.
On this occasion, in his address from the chief guest’s platform, Industry Minister Shri Lakhanlal Dewangan said that we are proud of our Korba and the participation of its virtuous people, as Korba has created a world record today that will be difficult to break. He said that we will all continuously work towards cleanliness so that our Korba becomes the number one city in the country in the Swachh Survekshan ranking and brings another great honor to Korba. Minister Dewangan further added that the dream of a clean India envisioned by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in 2014 is being fulfilled by our Korba Municipal Corporation under the guidance of the Chief Minister of the state, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, and Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration Minister Shri Arun Sao. For this, I congratulate and commend Mayor Smt. Sanju Devi Rajput, Commissioner Shri Ashutosh Pandey, the corporation councilors and officers and employees, and all the citizens of Korba. On this occasion, Industry Minister Dewangan administered the cleanliness pledge to thousands of citizens present, and those present reiterated their commitment to the cleanliness of the city by taking the pledge. She further added that under the guidance of Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Arun Sao, and Industry Minister Mr. Lakhanlal Dewangan, we will also succeed in making Korba the cleanest city in the country and will bring honor to Korba in the Swachh Survekshan (Cleanliness Survey) rankings. I am confident of this.
