Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the NCC is a powerful medium for imparting discipline, leadership, and patriotic values to youth. Programs like the “Chief Minister Banner” channelize the youth’s energy in a positive direction, preparing them to become responsible citizens. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav addressed the NCC Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh “Chief Minister Banner” program at the Chief Minister’s residence on Friday. This program provides an opportunity to strengthen discipline, leadership skills, organizational efficiency, and the spirit of national service among youth. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that for the development of Madhya Pradesh, we all must actively participate. Youth should especially come forward in this direction. Young friends should participate in the development of the state by utilizing their immense energy with full responsibility and dedication.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Indian Army is capable of defending the nation’s borders with full force. India has never invaded any country. The country has distinguished itself in the world for its commitment to global peace. Whenever terrorists have dared, our soldiers have demonstrated remarkable bravery, infiltrating the homes of terrorists hiding in neighboring countries three times, teaching them a lesson. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that under Prime Minister Shri Modi’s leadership, women’s empowerment is also being emphasized in the Indian Armed Forces. The 2026 Republic Day celebrations were dedicated to women’s empowerment. For the first time in the country, a female officer led a male contingent of a paramilitary force in the parade ceremony. Seeing 23 women from the state (NCC cadets) marching in the Republic Day parade filled him with pride. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the central government has taken numerous steps to provide equal opportunities to women in the armed forces, including granting them permanent commissions. Women are receiving reservations under the Navy’s Agnipath scheme. Daughters have also started getting admission in military schools.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated the Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh Directorate for winning one gold and two silver medals in the Best NCC Cadets Competition of the Republic Day Camp (RDC) held in New Delhi. Cadets from 17 Directorates across the country participated in this year’s Republic Day Camp and the Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh Directorate achieved its best performance so far, securing third place. The Chief Minister honored the NCC Republic Day Contingent and praised the dedication, perseverance and continuous efforts of the cadets, instructors and officers for this achievement.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav presented the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Best Inter-Group Chief Minister’s Banner for the training year 2025-26 to the NCC Group Headquarters, Jabalpur. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav honored the cadets who brought glory to Madhya Pradesh at the National Cadet Corps camp held in Delhi on Republic Day by presenting them with medals. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also presented cheques of ₹100,000, ₹75,000, and ₹50,000 respectively to the cadets participating in the Republic Day Camp (RDC) as first, second, and third prizes. On this occasion, NCC cadets performed the Nari Shakti group song, and NSS cadets performed the NSS song. At the event, PM Medal winner Senior Under Officer Mr. Vishal Singh shared his experiences at the RDC. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav personally wrote a congratulatory message for the NCC in the visitor’s book, congratulated all the medal winners, and wished them a bright future.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that like Prime Minister Shri Modi, he too was a member of the NCC and NSS uniform during his school and college years. Prime Minister Shri Modi is proud of the discipline and patriotic inspiration he learned during his NCC days. NCC cadets have never shied away from strengthening the spirit and legacy of Indian democracy, whenever required, in every era.
Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education, Mr. Anupam Rajan, stated that eight National Service Scheme (NSS) cadets from Madhya Pradesh participated in the Republic Day parade. The state currently has 156,000 NSS cadets, who have adopted more than 1,200 villages. The state government has set a goal of doubling the number of NSS cadets to foster a sense of equality, social service, and national responsibility among the state’s youth.

Additional Director General, NCC, Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh Directorate, Major General J.P. Singh stated that in Madhya Pradesh, we are receiving full support from all state government departments, especially the Higher Education Department, School Education Department, Technical Education Department, and the State Finance Department, to strengthen NCC activities and expand its reach. Land has been allocated for establishing new NCC camps in Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Sagar. He stated that Madhya Pradesh currently has a total of 77,000 cadets, with a target of increasing this number to 100,000 in the coming years. Major General Singh stated that with 1.7 million cadets, the NCC holds a unique position globally. A total of 2,200 NCC cadets participated in the Republic Day Parade 2026. The Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh Directorate has a total strength of 150,000 cadets, of which 136 cadets participated in the Republic Day camp. The Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh Directorate ranked sixth in 2024, fourth in 2025, and third in 2026. 23 cadets of the Directorate marched past in the parade on the path of duty.
The NCC Directorate, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, operates a total of six NCC Groups located at Bhopal, Jabalpur, Sagar, Indore, Gwalior, and Raipur. Each Group consists of 10 to 15 battalions. All battalions, representing their respective groups, compete in various activities throughout the training year, including service subjects, firing, annual training camps, social service activities, adventure activities, and group song competitions. Based on excellent overall performance, NCC Group Headquarters Jabalpur emerged as the Champion Group for the training year 2025-26.
At the beginning of the program, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav extended a warm welcome to all the NCC cadets and NSS volunteers by showering flowers on them at the Chief Minister’s residence. The NCC cadets saluted Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. The Additional Chief Secretary of Higher Education and NCC officials felicitated Chief Minister Dr. Yadav by presenting him with a memento. The Chief Minister also posed for a group photo with all the honored cadets and volunteers.
Secretary School Education Mr. Sanjay Goyal, Commissioner Higher Education Mr. Prabal Sipahi, Deputy Director General of NCC Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh Directorate Brigadier Mr. Rajneesh Singh Gaur, Group Commander of Bhopal NCC Headquarters Mr. Ashish Agnihotri along with other NCC officers and cadets were present in the felicitation ceremony.
