Indore to Abu Dhabi is only three and a half hours away, this air service will give new wings to tourism: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

  • The Chief Minister gave boarding passes to the passengers going from Indore to Abu Dhabi.
  • 100 passengers went to Abu Dhabi in the first flight, 170 passengers will return to Indore.
  • Yadav flagged off the direct international flight

Madhya Pradesh has created a new history in international aviation and contact with global cultures. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav launched Indore-Abu Dhabi first international direct air service of the state on Wednesday. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav flagged off this regular flight funded by Madhya Pradesh Civil Aviation Policy-2025 from Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport Indore. Currently this service will be available 4 days a week (Monday , Wednesday , Friday and Sunday).

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said on this historic occasion that this direct flight from Indore to Abu Dhabi is not just 2 cities but a strong bridge connecting 2 friendly countries , two rich cultures and endless possibilities. He said that this air service will give new impetus to the development , trade , tourism and global investment of Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that earlier it used to take around 8 hours to go from Indore to Abu Dhabi. Now direct air service will cover the distance in only three and a half hours (3 hours 15 minutes). Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also gave boarding passes to passengers going to Abu Dhabi. This route is being operated by ‘ Tata Group ‘ and ‘ Air India Express ‘ .

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Madhya Pradesh government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has implemented the Aviation Policy 2025. Based on this, the launch of the region’s first international flight (Indore to Abu Dhabi) from Indore airport today will fulfill our resolve. The state government has also started air service and PMShri Heli service between different cities of Madhya Pradesh. Under this, air services are being operated from Rewa to Indore , Rewa to Delhi and Rewa to Raipur , which will continue. Similarly, flights from Jabalpur to Kolkata , Bhopal to Rewa , Bhopal to Patna , Rewa to Kolkata will be started in the near future. Along with this, PM Shri Heli Service has been started to promote religious tourism within the region. Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to gift PM Shri Air Ambulance to the poor and needy.   

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government is starting international flights from Indore to establish international air connectivity in the region. Under the new aviation policy, the state government will bear Viability Gap Funding (VGF) of around Rs 15 lakh per flight for this international flight service. This will also reduce the air fare burden on the passengers of this route to almost half. Along with this, the policy also provides for viability gap funding assistance up to a maximum of Rs 10 lakh for new domestic air routes.

 Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the airport and air services are developing rapidly in the region. The state government has launched 3 new airports in the last two and a half years. 2 new airports in the state are under construction at Ujjain and Shivpuri. 10 major cities of Madhya Pradesh will accelerate airport connectivity in the next few years. It is proposed to construct a commercial airport and airstrip every 100 km and a helipad every 45 km in the region. One permanent helipad will be constructed in all the 230 assembly constituencies of the state.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that our Madhya Pradesh is continuously moving towards better connectivity and creation of modern infrastructure. This direct flight started from Indore, the financial capital of the region, to Abu Dhabi, the administrative capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), will prove to be very beneficial for the industry , trade , education , medical , tourism and expatriate Indians of the region. He said that this new air service will save time for passengers , make travel easier and more convenient , and also strengthen the economic and cultural ties between Madhya Pradesh and the UAE. Expansion of investment and employment opportunities in the region and tourism will also get a new boost.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that this regular international service between Indore and Abu Dhabi will further strengthen the global identity of Indore along with Madhya Pradesh. This air service will prove to be a significant achievement towards establishing Madhya Pradesh as a major hub for international trade and tourism. The Chief Minister said that this direct flight is a big step of the government in realizing the vision of a developed , self-reliant and global Madhya Pradesh. He said that this new air service is a symbol of Madhya Pradesh’s growing economic strength , investment prospects and global airlines’ growing trust in us.

Indore MP Shri Shankar Lalwani said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, the development of airports across the country is taking place at a fast pace. About 154 new airports have been built in the last 12 years , which is a history. Indore Airport is also setting new records. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav is also working with commitment to increase air connectivity. The number of flights at Indore airport has almost doubled. The capacity of Indore airport is 40 lakh passengers per year , in the last one year 43 lakh passengers traveled from Indore airport , which is more than the capacity. The growth of industrialization around Indore-Pithampur has increased the number of passengers. Simhastha: In view of 2028, the number of passengers will increase further. He said that in view of the future needs, there is a need for a new terminal at Indore Airport and to increase the length of the runway.

Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat , MLA Mrs. Malini Gaur , MLA Shri Golu Shukla , Mayor of Indore Shri Pushyamitra Bhargava and other public representatives , officers and employees of Airport Authority and passengers were present in the program.
