Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the state government is working with determination for the economic prosperity of all the farmers and fishermen of the state. Madhya Pradesh is the leading state in the country in agricultural production, along with this we have to work actively in fish production as well and work towards doubling it in the coming years. He said that the state government is committed to the welfare of fishermen. For this, work should be done in the field of aquaculture along with fish farming in the state. Such an eco system should be created in the state which can lead to economic empowerment of fishermen. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave these instructions to the officials in the review meeting of Fishermen Welfare and Fisheries Development Department in the Secretariat on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government is celebrating this year by dedicating itself to the welfare of farmers. Prepare an action plan to make Madhya Pradesh the number one state in the country in the field of fisheries. Organize a fishermen’s conference to encourage those doing good work in fisheries. Work towards increasing seed production. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also gave instructions in the meeting to work for the systematic use of the Fisheries Federation operating in the state. He said that fish production can be increased through the farm pond model in districts with low groundwater level. For this, one district should be prepared as a model, in which, along with fish production, other aquaculture based activities including water chestnut, lotus seeds, makhana should be encouraged.
In the review meeting, departmental officials informed Chief Minister Dr. Yadav that work is being done on Madhya Pradesh Cage Culture Policy to increase fish production in the state. In this, 10 thousand cages will be prepared under the beneficiary-oriented scheme and 90 thousand cages will be prepared under the entrepreneur model. The officials also gave detailed information about the work being done under the Chief Minister Fisherman Prosperity Scheme. Information about the special project Integrated Aqua Park and Research Centre proposed in Bhopal was also given in the meeting. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave instructions to prepare an action plan for preparing fish houses at the division level.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav reviewed the progress of departmental schemes for the financial year 2024-25 and 2025-26, progress of Kisan Credit Card, Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, Mukhyamantri Machhua Samriddhi Yojana, special projects approved by the Government of India, cage culture Indira Sagar reservoir, technology diffusion centre, reservoir cluster based fisheries and integrated fish house and research centre in the meeting. On this occasion, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Fishermen Welfare and Fisheries Development Shri Narayan Singh Panwar, Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary (Chief Minister’s Office) Shri Neeraj Mandloi and Additional Chief Secretary Shri Ashok Barnwal along with departmental officers were present.
