Farmer’s family gets government help in treating serious kidney disease, gets new life

The family, having lost hope, expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai for financial assistance.

In early June of this year, Mrs. Meena Mahant, a resident of Kommo village in Sakti district, suffered a sudden heart attack. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors diagnosed a heart vein blockage and referred her to Mekara in Raipur for better treatment. After examining her at Mekara, doctors advised her to undergo heart surgery, which would cost approximately ₹5 lakh (approximately ₹5 lakh).

Mrs. Meena Mahant’s husband, Mr. Jagannath Das, explained that we all live in a joint family. Our financial situation is very weak. Upon learning that heart surgery costs approximately 5 lakh rupees, we couldn’t afford it. Our family had given up hope that my wife would ever recover. Mr. Jagannath Das explained that in such a dire situation, we learned about the Chief Minister’s Special Health Assistance Scheme, offering a glimmer of hope that my wife’s heart surgery would be possible. We had a doctor at Raipur Mekara prepare a proposal for the treatment expenses and went to the residence of Chief Minister Mr. Vishnudev Sai to submit an application for assistance. Acting swiftly on our application, Chief Minister Mr. Vishnudev Sai approved the funds for my wife’s heart surgery.

After which, my wife, Mrs. Meena Mahant, underwent successful heart surgery. After the surgery, our father has now returned home. He is happily leading a normal life as before. Our family expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai. His good governance has made it possible for Mrs. Meena Mahant, a wife, mother, and grandmother in our joint family, who had lost hope, to find new life.
