On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a grand Mahatari conference was organised in village Chhatauna (Jarhagaon), Setganga, Manas Manch Lormi and Jhafal and Mangal Bhawan Patharia of Mungeli district. In the programme, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai transferred an amount of more than Rs 684 crore to the accounts of more than 68 lakh women of the state through a programme organised in Bastar district and congratulated the beneficiaries. In this, an amount of Rs 19.22 crore was transferred to the accounts of more than 02 lakh 09 thousand 600 women of the district. MLA Shri Punnulal Mohle, District Panchayat Chairman Shrikant Pandey, Collector Shri Kundan Kumar, Superintendent of Police Shri Bhojram Patel, Additional Collector Smt. Nishtha Pandey Tiwari, District Panchayat CEO Shri Prabhakar Pandey, Mungeli SDM Shri Ajay Shatranj, Lormi District Chairman Smt. Varsha Singh, District Panchayat members Smt. Ambalika Sahu, Smt. Rajni Manik Sonwani, Shri Umashankar Sahu, Mungeli District Panchayat Chairman Shri Ram Kamal Singh, and other public representatives were present at the event held at the market premises in village Chhatauna. The program began with prayers and prayers to the images of Saraswati and Bharat Mata. The national anthem, Jana Gana Mana, and the national song, Vande Mataram, were also sung.

MLA Shri Mohle, addressing the gathering, stated that the state government is implementing numerous schemes to empower women and advance them in every sphere of society. Women are benefiting from schemes such as the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, Housing Scheme, electricity bill relief, clean drinking water, and pensions. Today, women are also moving into leadership roles in the country and the state, making their presence felt in every field. A large number of women in the state are becoming financially independent by becoming Lakhpati Didis. Women are advancing in various professions, including sewing and embroidery, and strengthening their families’ financial positions. The MLA noted that the state government has been in power for only two years, and development work is progressing rapidly. Women are being connected to various schemes and encouraged to pursue employment and business, enabling them to become self-reliant. During the program, he announced ₹30 lakh for the construction of a Mahatari Sadan.

The Collector stated that more than ₹684 crore has been transferred directly to women’s accounts under government schemes so far, helping them become economically empowered. He extended greetings and best wishes to all the women present on International Women’s Day. District Panchayat President Shrikant Pandey and other public representatives addressed the event and extended greetings and best wishes on International Women’s Day. The event was filled with enthusiasm and joy among the women. Women shared their stories of success and economic empowerment through the platform. In the programme, 16 departmental officers and employees who gave excellent performance were honoured by giving them certificates and shields. Also, 38 national level girl players were honoured by giving them a cheque of Rs. 1,100 and a shawl. Similarly, 6 girls who gave excellent performance in class 10th and 12th were honoured with a sum of Rs. 20,000, shield and certificate, 11 women of Jarhagaon Surbhi Cluster Organisation, 30 women doing business with the amount of Mahatari Vandan Yojana were honoured by giving them shawl, coconut and certificate.
