 Even disability could not stop Saira Bano’s courage

  • Saira Bano became an example of self-reliance by driving an e-rickshaw.

Saira Bano of Dhamtari district has proven that if one possesses a strong will and a passion to move forward with self-respect, no difficult situation can stop one from achieving success. Despite a physical disability and a dire financial situation, Saira Bano has emerged as an inspiring example of self-reliance.
       Until recently, Saira Bano’s life was fraught with financial hardship. A lack of employment made meeting even her daily needs a significant challenge. Instead of giving up, she resolved to become self-reliant and sought assistance from the district administration for employment.

      Considering Saira Bano’s circumstances and her strong determination, the administration took her problem seriously. Under their guidance, Saira Bano was trained in e-rickshaw operation at Baroda ARSETI, Dhamtari. During the training, she learned the technique of driving an e-rickshaw with full dedication and hard work. She was also given necessary information related to self-employment and the police department provided detailed information on traffic rules. After completing the training, Saira Bano was provided an e-rickshaw under the Saksham Project with the cooperation of the Social Welfare Department and the Women and Child Development Department.

     Today, Saira Bano confidently earns a respectable living by driving an e-rickshaw in Dhamtari city. This work earns her approximately 300 to 500 rupees per day, allowing her to meet her needs with dignity. The government aims to empower those in need with various government schemes. If beneficiaries move forward with determination and hard work, they can bring positive changes to their lives.

       This success story of Saira Banu is not only inspiring for the disabled people, but is also a message for every person in the society that difficult circumstances can never become an obstacle in the path of progress, if the person has the courage and determination to move forward.
