 Workshop concludes for coordination of data with departments: Uniformity in data across departments is essential

A workshop-cum-meeting was held today at the Ministry of Statistics, Mahanadi Bhawan, under the chairmanship of Mr. Bhuvnesh Yadav, Secretary, Department of Economics and Statistics, Government of Chhattisgarh. The meeting encompassed extensive discussions on the standardization of departmental data at the state level and administrative data linking. Officials at the meeting informed that the Administrative Statistics and Policy Division of the Government of India, National Statistical Office, Delhi, has informed that a summit is being organized for national discussions on administrative data linking, which will be attended by representatives from states and union territories. The conference will discuss the progress of data harmonization and related issues.
   

At the meeting, Mr. Bhuvnesh Yadav, Secretary, Department of Economics and Statistics, urged departments to provide information about their departments promptly so that the data harmonization process can be progressed in a timely manner. At the workshop, Mrs. Roktima Yadav, Director, Department of Economics and Statistics, stated that data exchange across departments will strengthen the data system and facilitate policy formulation. She explained that data uniformity will eliminate duplication, allowing policies, plans, and decisions to be implemented based on accurate data analysis.
The meeting discussed the possibilities of department-wise data consolidation, including the data currently available with departments, and the action plan for service delivery, monitoring, and administrative data consolidation. Officials from all state government departments and the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation, Government of India, participated in the meeting via video conference.
