- Secretary Mr. Prasanna reviewed the Agriculture Department
Secretary to the Governor and Cooperative Secretary, Mr. C.R. Prasanna, reviewed preparations for the Kharif season, including the uninterrupted supply of fertilizers, the availability of seeds, and the damage caused by unseasonal rains. Instructions were issued to promote agricultural mechanization and to expedite the delivery of relief and insurance claims to farmers.
An important review meeting of the Agriculture Department was held today in the meeting hall of the District Joint Office, chaired by Mr. C.R. Prasanna, Secretary-in-Charge of Surajpur District. Collector Mr. S. Jaivardhan, Joint Collector Mr. Pushpendra Sharma, SDM Mr. Ajay Modiam, Deputy Director of Agriculture Ms. Sampada Paikra, and officials from departments affiliated with the Agriculture Department were present at the meeting.
- Review of fertilizer stock and Kharif preparation

In the meeting, Secretary-in-Charge Mr. Prasanna took information from the concerned officials about the demand and supply of fertilizers in previous years and reviewed the updated status of current fertilizer storage. The Secretary-in-Charge gave instructions to ensure proper arrangement of quality fertilizers and seeds in the district for the upcoming Kharif season 2026-27. He clarified that adequate storage of chemical fertilizers should be made and the fertilizer allocated from the rack point should be ensured to be stored in the district on time.
- Strict action against black marketing and hoarding
The Secretary in charge directed officials to regularly review the storage arrangements in the committees. Fertilizer and seed inspectors should conduct regular physical inspections of seed and fertilizer shops and committees, so that situations like black marketing and hoarding can be completely curbed. He directed strict action against black marketing, hoarding and those spreading rumors. He also clarified that fertilizer distribution should be done as per the rules and fertilizer and seeds should be made available only to eligible farmers, for which he talked about preparing and implementing a planned action plan.
