Workers are getting better health facilities in ESIC Hospital, Raigarh.

Services at the ESIC Hospital in Raigarh are being continuously strengthened to provide better, accessible, and quality healthcare to industrial workers. Under the direction of the Collector, coordinated efforts by the district administration and the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation are now providing workers with more effective and prompt treatment than before.  

          In the same sequence, Collector Mr. Mayank Chaturvedi, while reviewing the hospital’s arrangements in the Collectorate Chamber, stressed on further expansion and strengthening of services. He gave instructions to operate the hospital at full capacity and provide maximum health benefits to the workers. The Collector reviewed various arrangements in detail including drinking water, electricity supply, waste management, doctors and staff. He stressed on providing adequate drinking water in the hospital, ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply and strengthening the transport facility by expanding bus services, so that the access of the workers becomes more easy. On this occasion, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. Brijesh Singh Kshatriya and related officials were present.

           It should be noted that this 100-bed hospital in Patrapali serves as a major health center for insured workers and their families. Currently, the hospital employs 15 doctors and necessary technical staff, strengthening the treatment system. Inpatient facilities are soon to be established, eliminating the need for workers to travel elsewhere for treatment of serious illnesses. A better waste management system is being developed to maintain cleanliness and order on the hospital premises, and security is being strengthened to ensure the safety of patients and medical staff. Laboratory services have been established at the hospital, and approval has been granted for other necessary infrastructure projects, including an operating room. Work is also underway to improve the drainage system. The
           Assistant Labor Commissioner stated that the department has issued a roster for all industries in the district, under which factory management will bring workers to the ESIC hospital for checkups in a timely manner to ensure optimal health. Insured workers can also visit the ESIC hospital for checkups with their family members. The department is continuously making workers aware about the benefits of the scheme. He informed that the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation scheme is an important social security system for workers in the organized sector, under which they receive facilities like free medical care, financial assistance, maternity benefits, accident compensation and pension. Both the employee and the employer contribute to this scheme, which provides comprehensive social and economic security to the workers. Employees earning salary up to the prescribed limit are registered through the employer and after registration they are provided with an Insured Person Identification Number. All eligible workers should take maximum advantage of this scheme and protect their health.
