Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country is progressing in every field. In Madhya Pradesh, agriculture and agriculture-related businesses are viewed with great respect as a coexistence. Krishi Utsav is being celebrated throughout the state with the theme of “Prosperous Farmers, Prosperous Madhya Pradesh.” Agriculture provides us with the opportunity to live in harmony with nature. The country’s agricultural tradition dates back millions of years. Rock paintings depicting ancient agricultural traditions can be seen at Bhim Baithika. Our sages and saints have shown the way to live with agriculture for thousands of years. Indian culture is steeped in respect for agriculture. The country’s soil is yielding gold in the form of food grains. The country once faced a grain crisis, but today our agricultural scientists are developing new varieties and increasing grain production. The state government is moving forward with determination to make farming profitable. In keeping with the spirit of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, “Jai Vigyan” was added to “Jai Kisan, Jai Jawan.” Currently, we are also adding “Jai Anusandhan” to it. We are not limited to providing basic amenities to farmers in the state, but are also empowering them with modern technology, scientific farming, and better market linkages. The Krishi Manthan workshop is a powerful effort to integrate farmers’ experiences, scientific innovations, government policies, and market opportunities. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the Krishi Manthan workshop at Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University, Jabalpur on Wednesday. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav formally inaugurated the workshop by lighting a lamp and worshipping the cow. On this occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav visited exhibitions of advanced seed processing, medicinal plant species, food processing, and advanced agricultural crops. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was welcomed by artists from the tribal community with traditional dance and musical instruments.

  • Gifts given for these development works

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated various works worth Rs 23 crore 21 lakh in the program and gave gifts of development. These mainly included the new administrative building of Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University built at a cost of Rs 13 crore, the administrative building of Bohani Sugarcane Research Center costing Rs 1.11 crore, the skill development center of Warasivani Agricultural College of Balaghat district costing Rs 1 crore, as well as the automatic liquid bio-fertilizer production center built in Jabalpur at a cost of Rs 1.26 crore. Along with this, four units of the Farmer Welfare and Agricultural Development Department built at a cost of Rs 4 crore 92 lakh were also inaugurated, which includes the knowledge dissemination centers of Rewa and Shahdol.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav distributed approval orders worth over ₹10 crore to 10 start-ups funded by the Government of India at the workshop. He also presented the university with a certificate from the PPV, FR Authority, New Delhi, for its outstanding work in the field of farmer rights protection. He also launched the Krishi Sakhi training program and distributed benefits to beneficiaries of various departmental schemes.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that we must move forward further in the Agricultural Welfare Year. The state has immense potential for development. Our hardworking farmers have secured the state the top position in pulses production, a matter of pride for us. Now we are progressing rapidly in every sector, including oilseeds and grains. The state’s farmers are also taking third crops. To increase agricultural production, improved varieties of seeds will be made available to farmers in place of traditional seeds. This will increase our agricultural production capacity manifold. The state government is working with the resolve to double farmers’ income by integrating animal husbandry, horticulture, food processing, and modern machinery.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the area of ​​natural farming has increased in the state. Madhya Pradesh is the state with the highest natural farming in the country. Ragi laddus are being prepared as Prasad for Baba Mahakal. The state government is increasing the income of farmers through milk production. Agriculture and animal husbandry are two sides of the same coin. Currently, 9 percent milk is produced in the state, the target has been set to increase it to 20 percent. Milk consumption will increase in the state and production will also increase. It has been decided to distribute free milk packets to children from class 1 to 8 in government schools. The state government is working on different schemes for milk production. Establishment of food processing units is being encouraged in the state.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that our scientists are placing special emphasis on nutrition in the development of new varieties. A record wheat production has been set in the state. Madhya Pradesh has surpassed all other states in wheat production. Wheat procurement in the state begins on April 9th. Farmers are being offered a price of Rs 2625 per quintal. We are committed to increasing this price to Rs 2700. Soybean farmers in the state have also benefited from the Bhavantar Yojana. Now, farmers will be given the Bhavantar benefit on mustard crops as well.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that former Prime Minister, the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, envisioned the River Linking Campaign. Madhya Pradesh is home to rivers. Mother Narmada is a lifeline for the state’s farmers, providing water not only to Madhya Pradesh but also to Gujarat and Rajasthan. Mother Narmada satisfies the needs of agriculture and industry, and quenches the thirst of every throat. Madhya Pradesh has become the fastest-growing state in the country in the agricultural sector. This is due to the special blessings of Mother Narmada.

Agricultural University Vice Chancellor, Professor Pramod Kumar Mishra, said that agricultural scientists, agricultural start-ups, FPOs, and farmers from India and abroad have participated in the Krishi Manthan workshop. This platform will play an important role in taking the state to new heights in the field of agriculture. Madhya Pradesh is number one in the country in many agricultural crops. The Agricultural University has developed several new crop varieties, including wheat, soybean, and chickpea, to increase production in the agricultural sector. The university has received GI tags for Chinnor rice from Balaghat and Sundarja mango from Rewa.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav held a direct dialogue with the country’s renowned agricultural scientists at Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University, Jabalpur on Wednesday, the main objective of which is to establish agriculture as a profitable business and to facilitate the access of products from farms to factories. To accelerate the agricultural growth rate, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave instructions to ensure activities based on regional suitability and to effectively disseminate modern technologies to the farmers.

The dialogue featured experts from agriculture and allied sectors engaging in insightful discussions on research and innovation, covering key topics such as water-efficient crop varieties, natural farming, weed control, and the use of artificial intelligence in agriculture. Scientists also shared their insights on scientific ways to increase farmers’ income through livestock and feed management.
