In Kondagaon district, the state government’s rehabilitation policy is giving new direction to the lives of the rehabilitated individuals. Youth who once strayed into violence are now returning to the mainstream and moving towards self-reliance through skill development.
Similarly, Tulsi Ram, Rajman, and Gobru of Kudhur village are currently undergoing training in the electrician trade through the Livelihood College at the district-run rehabilitation center. Tulsi Ram Kashyap explained that he had previously joined the organization due to the fear and insecurity in the area, but inspired by the state government’s rehabilitation policy, he decided to surrender and return to the mainstream. He is currently undergoing skill development training at the rehabilitation center. He explained that a two-month training program in wiring is being provided in the electrician trade, of which approximately 15 days have been completed. After training, he plans to start wiring work as a self-employment project in his area. Similarly, Rajman and Gobru also decided to surrender under the rehabilitation policy and return to the mainstream. They are currently undergoing training in the electrician trade. They say that after completing their training, they will establish self-employment in their village, earning income, and supporting their families.

Expressing satisfaction with the state government’s rehabilitation policy, the three young people said that this initiative has given them the opportunity to start a new life. While previously there was an atmosphere of fear and instability, they are now confident about their future, having received training in a safe environment. It is noteworthy that under the rehabilitation policy implemented by the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, surrendered individuals are being integrated into the mainstream and provided with opportunities for skill development, employment, and livelihood.
The rehabilitation centre run by the district administration is playing an important role in this direction, where the previously misguided youth are being re-established in the mainstream of the society by providing them training and guidance.
