Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai attended the Bengali community’s New Year’s Eve celebration held at the Chief Minister’s residence today. On this occasion, he extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all members of the community for the Bengali New Year.

He said that the Bengali community has always played a significant role in the state’s development. Particularly in the fields of fisheries and advanced agriculture, the Bengali community has played a significant role in taking Chhattisgarh to new heights. Furthermore, members of the community are also making significant contributions to health services.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that West Bengal has always been the birthplace of great personalities, where great men like Rabindranath Tagore, Swami Vivekananda, and Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay were born. He noted that Swami Vivekananda lived in Raipur for a long time during his youth. The government is preserving his residence as a heritage site, and the capital’s airport is known as Swami Vivekananda Airport in his honor. He expressed confidence that the Bengali community will play an important role in building a developed Chhattisgarh. 

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma also extended greetings for the Bengali New Year on this occasion, noting that Bengal has a rich history. Recalling great figures like Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Meghnad Saha, Swami Vivekananda, and Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, he stressed the need to preserve this heritage.

MLA Shri Kiran Singh Deo also extended New Year greetings to community representatives at the event. A large number of community representatives, including Shri Akhilesh Soni, Shri Prabal Pratap Judev, former Justice Shri Gautam Bhaduri, Shri Praveen Sen, and Shri Vivek Vardhan, were present.
