Chhattisgarh’s international shooter Divyanshu met Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw.

  • He won the gold medal in the mixed doubles event at the Junior World Cup in Egypt with a world record score.
  • Will represent India in the World Championship to be held in Germany in June

Chhattisgarh’s international shooter Divyanshu Dewangan met Deputy Chief Minister and Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Arun Saw today. During the meeting at Shri Saw’s residence in Nava Raipur, Divyanshu shared his sporting journey so far. The Deputy Chief Minister congratulated him on his golden success at the Junior World Cup in Egypt. Shri Saw also wished him well for his performance at the World Championships to be held in Germany next month.

Divyanshu Dewangan, a resident of Raigarh, won the gold medal in the mixed doubles 10-meter air rifle shooting event at the Junior World Cup in Cairo, Egypt, last April, along with Shambhavi Shravan Kshirsagar of Maharashtra. Together, they set a world record by scoring 499.9 points. Divyanshu will represent the Indian team at the World Shooting Championships in Suhl, Germany, next month in June.

Divyanshu won a silver medal at the 68th National Shooting Championship held in Bhopal in December 2025. He recently won a bronze medal at the Kumar Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting Championship in Bhopal. He placed first in the Junior Selection Trials held in Pune in January this year. He has also been selected for the Khelo India University Games 2026. He has also been notified as a Khelo India Athlete under the Central Government’s Khelo India scheme.
